Do the points have anything to due with the gifts that some members received?

I believe VBB is thinking of ideas or ways that the VBB member can trade there points in for merchandise.  Nothing much has been said about this lately!

The gifts that some of the VBB members are getting are not from the brownie points!  From what I understand, there are VBB members that were active on the old VBB and when the transition took place to the new VBB it created a lot of problems and as a way to say to the members that they appreciated them sticking by them through all this, they got some goodies.

Do I remember correctly that on the old site the points were a way to win prizes?  And if I recall correctly, at the start of a new year, they rolled over to 0 and you had to start over.  I noticed that this year they kept on accumulating - I hope this does mean trading them in for stuff.  That would be fun!

Nancy, if you have a Costco by you the coupon book just came out and the 72 ounce bag of Nestle Chocolate Chips has a $2.00 off coupon with a limit of 2.  The bags run between $7-8 (can't remember the exact price).
If you are not a member ask around I am sure you would find someone that will be willing to take you shopping.

Hopefully they will let us know what we can use the points for.  If you didn't get a goody package from VBB, be sure to check your account to see if they have your mailing address.  If they don't have it they can't send anything.

Brownie points are not really worth anything yet. In all the years I have been on the boards, only a few of those who posted regularly received anything. And I do mean a FEW. Maybe 3-4 people.

Also, there was no way a regular, daily poster could get the highest points because of the way they were earned. New members who signed up at the first of the year, received bonus points for signing up. That put every one of them about 250-500 points ahead of anyone even if you earned your maximum everyday. And the boards would go down sometimes in different areas of the countries and be down from 1 day to several and you couldn't earn points. But, the ones who were still able to get on the boards did.

That is why those of us who have been on here for several years (6 for me), do not really worry about trying to earn Brownie Points. Just not worth the trouble.

Sometimes there were contests for prizes that you got entered into if you earned a certain number of points.  But I would rather "spend" the points for cooking items or coupons.

I agree, Pat!  I never posted on the old board, mostly because I never knew there was such a thing.  I'm still not trying to get a huge number of points, but it's kinda fun to see them climb higher every day now that I have become something of a "regular!"

I would happily trade my pts for coupons too Nancy!  I have not seen any change in my pts since last week.  This is disturbing me somewhat...........
