We do many things, but the ones I can think of are: lots of recycling, lots of insulation and double pane windows, and basically trying not to waste resources. There are probably lots of other things, but this is what I could think of right now.

My list is the same as Barbara B's. In addition, my husband commutes to work in a hybrid car. And when I go shopping I always bring my own bags.

 GRANA  here;
 I faithfully practice the3 R-R-Rs;
R educe
 R euse
R ecycle& we bring our newspaper,bottles& cans to the recycling center.
We don't use our r heating orAC systems to greatly change our temperatures indoors, prefering to only reduce thehumidity  for more comfort.
Beforeretiring, ubbyorganized carpools for the commuteto work(lots of difficuty/ resistance there!
do errandsThe car only goes out once a week;all errands being done on that day.I bake cookies & cakes together& add a artially pre( micro) baked potato or 2-4 to finish up along /the other ter items in the oven. I don't litter or use chemicals, when other options are available. I set my washer on low level for only partial loads dryer only to " damp" setting.I then hang things up to dry in the air ,naturally, no cost or energy useage.Our condo rules do not allow hanging laundry outside to dry so we invested in a ew ndoor racks to allow things to fnish drying.
We use our own cloth bags for shopping; rather than  the plastic  bags offered by stores!
In other words we do all we can/are aware of to reduce our carbon footprint.Innocent
I reuse smaller plastic bottles ( shampoo;dish liquid, etc. &  7 refill the from larger  containers .
I use cloth napkins & wash them alon gw/ other laundry( no additional water or utilities needed).
I try to  patronize/ buy from environmentally responsible companiesand let them know why I am a customer.I do not always usethedishwasherl except for larger groups  of people,I stop the machine, open the door alloowing things to air dry instead of using the  heating element to dry.For generations, hand washed dishes were allowed to drip/air dry in a draining rack; this is similar & only requires a momen to stop the dying cycle & open the door.Thelittle extrtxa time air drying takes can be spent eading ing a book or doing othe chores or even relaxing w/a cupp acoffee or tea.It's a comittment I 've made to  put  environmental concerns ahead of speed  in doing  household chores
We've replacedlighting w/more efficient  fixtures & ispose of  cfl bulbs properly; again requiring only  a little effort to do the right thing for future generations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We don'tleave thewater running whilewe brush our teeth  r light empty rooms.
This is not aonedayonly wayof lifebut s somethingwe do
 daily &  automatically.

Recycle, using green materials and cleaners, conservation of water and walking instead of driving when ever possible.

We recycle EVERYTHING!  If we are not sure if it should go in the bin....we put it there anyway....whomever sorts it will know what to do with it.  With just the two of us, we FILL the bin to the top every time.  It is only picked up every other week; but we do manage to fill it up to the brim.

I'm with you Darla.  Our refuse company last year gave us larger, wheeled recycling bins.  They said we don't have to put it out every week, only when it's full.  With just the two of us, that bin is almost full every week with all the recycling.  I also try to compost kitchen scraps, egg shells, coffee grounds, etc into the garden.  Very little makes it into the garbage bag!

Most of our grocery stores no longer offer paper bags but when they do, I opt for that.  Then I use the paper bags to hold the shredded papers(with names and other important info on them) for recycling.  The plastic bags always go back to the store for recycling as well.  Every little bit that we can do will not only save our environment but money too.
