"Walnut Omega-3s May Help Body Better Handle Stress
For many of us, the stress of April 15th can send blood pressure soaring. Eating foods that support rather than undermine the body's ability to respond to stress can make a big difference, as scientists are currently discovering. For example, Penn State researchers looked into how a diet rich in walnuts (including walnut oil) might affect stress markers. Twenty-two adults with high cholesterol were fed various amounts of walnuts over the course of six weeks, then were measured for blood pressure responses to stress -- in this case they were either required to give a speech or had their feet plunged into ice water (almost as bad as Tax Day!). The result: The walnut munchers enjoyed a milder stress reaction, as measured by a smaller change in blood pressure and heart rate"

I don't think I have much stress.  I'm one of those people who doesn't let stuff bother me.  I figure what happens, happens and there's no sense getting all worked up over it.  Stress is hard on your whole system. Maybe it is because I eat so much chocolate ;-)

I spent a lifetime looking at any/all upsets, difficulties or troubles and believing it was all MY fault.
Slowly, slowly I've been learning that it's not.  Giant steps.
And when there is REAL trouble I'm dealingl with it with prayer ..... and chocolate helps. A nap helps. Cats help.

I have also worried so much of my life away,it's sad.I pray a lot now and I have come to realize that about 99 % of the things we worry about don't ever happen and when they do they aren't as bad as we thought they would be.God always answers our prayers maybe not in the manner we think is right but what he thinks it should be.I have slowed down alot and I just really enjoy my family and friends now.

I tend to eat when I am stressed.  I love to eat chocolate, cookies or ice cream.  They seem to have a calming effect on me.

I pray.  I do a LOT of praying!!!!!  Right now there is a lot of stress with my husband's health problems.  Took him for his first PT session for his back.  Have to take him three times a week for six weeks.  Then they will evaluate him and see if he requires any more or what the next step is.

When I get stressed, I walk and pray. I also tend to eat more and want a ham
sandwich with swiss cheese, mustard, and mayo.

Marie,  I'm praying for you and your husband!!

I am blessed that I do not have stress.  We are a retired couple and we are free to do what we want to when we want to.

I pray because any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden. Innocent

I am better dealing with it than I used to. I do believe in prayer and bubble baths. I love to take long walks with my dogs, it's my way of meditating.
