I know that there are many animal lovers here so i was wondering how many of the cat owners have watched their cat take a bath? I was watching mine tonight & she'll start at one place for a minute & then she pauses like she's getting directions on where to bath next! Sometimes she stares off to the distance for a few seconds (sometimes with her tongue a bit sticking out!) It's so funny! Laughing

We have two cats and quite often they take turns giving each other a bath. Our female is very fastidious since every time someone touches her or she eats she takes time to wash up afterwards.

I've watched mice taking baths. (I work in a medical research facility).  It is really cute how they do it.  Especially cute is when they do their tails.  They take it in both "hands" and zip it through their teeth like a long piece of spaghetti.  They also do each other's faces.  Really cute.

My cats must do most of their bathing in private because I do not see them doing it often.  My mini doxie, Vienna is a licker and she will clean the cats faces and pays particular attention to ears. If she licks much past the face she gets swatted.
The cats barely tolerate each other and do not groom each other.  They must declare a truce once in a while because I do see them both sleeping on my bed.

I've never had cats or dogs, only parakeets.  When the last one died I decided never to do it again and got rid of the cages and all the extras.  With all the hair I lose every day, it's all I can do to keep up with cleaning that up lol.

I had a German Shepard for 16 years.  I think I was vacuuming up the fur for 5 years after she was gone. Sort of like the pine needles from the Christmas Tree I think the last of the needles get sucked up the day before the next tree gets put up. (Don't tell me I need a new Vacuum cleaner)

I've had all sorts of animals and everyone was special.I raised dwarf rabbits for a while and it was fun watching them clean themselves and mom raising her young. My kids and myself learned so much just watching our critters. My favorites were my cats and dogs.each one had similarities but all had their own personalities. The two dogs I have now are just a joy to have around.

I prefer dogs over cats as well. Our last dog was a Golden Retriever, and like you, Nikki and H.M., I picked up fur by the bushels full every day. But what a great family companion she was.

I've raised baby opossums (Mom killed by dogs) and when they got done eating they would wash their faces with their hands.  it was cute to watch.  it was also cute to watch them eat.  If they had a piece of fruit, they would pick it up in their hands or use their hands to help get it into their mouths.

I've watched my cat clean himself before.  It is pretty comical,  but boy does he feel nice and soft when he is finished.
