I have made these for a lot of my friends and they really love these ,helps to keep your kitchen more organized. I have one in my bathroom also ,I use these bags because they are free and why spend money just to throw away . Take a new dish towel, fold length wise, stitch down the side allowing a 1/4" seam allowance.Turn right side out.On one side put a rubber around the tube about 2" from the bottom,or if you know how to sew you can stich a piece of elastic on the bottom before sewing the side seam. I stich a piece of 1/2 inch wide heavier ribbon on the other side making a loop to hang the bag holder. Now take those plastic bags and crunch each one of the bags into a ball and push them into the holder from the top, pack them tight, you'll be amazed at how many will fit in these.Pull a small portion of the first bag you stuffed in and when you pull, the bag will come out pulling a portion of the next bag in line.Hang on a cup hook where desired. Now all those pesky bags have a home. The finished product will look like a tube with the opened end on top with a loop for hanging and the other end with either elastic or a rubber band on the other end.

I ditto what you have done and Yes I do reuse those bags for many things!  Any extra I bring down to our Animal shelter as they have to pick up the droppings in the runs and they use the bags.

We have reusable bags for groceries.  We use them for other things too.  Most plastic bags that we get are recycled at the grocery store.  Some cities in the Bay Area are banning plastic bags.

I save piles and piles of bags to take to Wal Mart for recycling.   I NEED a bag like Gale described (thanks Gale!!).  Right now I stuff all  bags into an empty Diet Pepsi carton in my cupboard.  I did cover the carton with white Contact paper but it's still not "good" storage -- and the darn cats pull them out for the fun of it.

We have curbside recycling in our area and we have to put the stuff in blue bags so, I put all my cans, glass, etc. in them and put them out on the lawn.  It beats having to buy special bags.

You are welcome Nancy,They sure keep them more organized. You can store about 50 or more bags in one of these.I use the bags for recycling and for bathroom trash no one sees it because I keep the trash under the sink and it saves money. Here is a tip that I use.I wash my trash cans often because plastic tends to hold odors after I wash and dry them I throw a fabric softener sheet on the bottom of the can before putting a bag back in and it keeps it smelling fresh longer.I like to make these from kitchen towels because there is less sewing and no raw edges.

The bags the newspaper comes in is great for slipping over you feet before you put boots on.  The boots go on a bit easier and the bags keep the feet a bit drier if you happen to step in a puddle or a snow bank and get snow in your boot.

I take any plastic bag when I take the dog for a walk in the Forest Preserve.

I put Stinky and Wet food garbage in a smaller plastic bag before I put it in the main garbage, only if I am tossing out stuff before garbage day, this keeps the garbage from smelling up the kitchen or enticing the cat to explore the garbage.

I recycle any plastic bags I get at the store, I bring them back to the recycle bin at the store or I put them with my recycle stuff at the curb.
I try to always keep a reusable shopping bag or tote basket in the car.  Not only good for shopping but when I clean out the car it is there to help me bring in all the "Junk" from the car.

I use so very many zip lock freezer bags ... how expensive.  But I bake so very many cookies and they all go in the freezer.  I have bags and bags and bags stuffed in the freezer.  When I use the cookies I load them into alumn. cake pans.
The plastic bag has the name of the cookie and the date written on it.  I will re-use the bags, crossing out things and adding new BUT there's always a lot of bags looking for a home.
I use them for removing scoops of cat litter a couple times a day.

I pick up doggie duty in the yard with one of the plastic bags over my hand.  When I take the dogs for a walk I also bring a couple along to pick up any duty they leave in the parkway.  Like a good neighbor duty bags are there!

We use the plastic bags for various things.  I also share them with various people, my younger son, for one.  He uses them when he cleans out the litter box.  I also share them with several other people.

I use the bags to sort things in to carry elsewhere.  Some to work, some to my Dad's & more for the daycare.  That way when I am heading out the door I can just take the proper bag with me.  I have to go behind my husband & salvage them.  He will just throw them in the trash.
