A friend and I took a leisure enrichment program on cross country skiing when I
was living in MI. We kept falling down in the same area all the time. We had a
really great time but full of bruises from falling. We found out that summer that
we were skiing down steps. No wonder we were falling all the time. I never
went skiing after that.

Hunter- You too.that happen to me once in college. Someone kick a door open, right into my friend and I.Broke my nose.Bruised up my friends face.That is so painful,I looked like a racoon.

That is why I do not ever want to ski.Two good reasons.That is why I do not want my son going.

Yeah I agree with Nikki.I hope you got her number.Next time just ask the lady..Poor Preston.

Thanks Julie B!!!! I'm sure it was me and just a little for the stairs. I never
wanted to go downhill skiing because I have long legs and would end up
with them wrapped around my head. Stay warm!!!!

Julie, this discussion is a great idea!! I am still very touched that you all missed me so much!! I know I definitely missed all of you and wondered how you all were doing! Nikki is absolutely right...we seem to be touching each other's lives without even realizing it! It's wonderful to have you all as friends and get to know you here! Thanks for all the kind words and Preston, I'm glad I help to lift your spirits at times. I was kind of teary-eyed as I read through all these posts.

@Connie, I am both happy and sad for you...happy about your daughter's getting pregnant...a wonderful miracle....and sad that you lost your sister. My prayers are with you and your family!

@Renee, Praise God that your sister's cancer is in remission!! My oldest brother was also diagnosed with cancer a little over 7 years ago. He goes regularly to have tests and Praise God, he just had his latest check and is still in remission!

@Marie, I pray you are doing well since your knee surgery last fall.

@Preston, Oh my! I am so sorry to hear of your skiing accident! I pray you will heal quickly!! Praise the Lord for that silver lining!!! Although that sounds to me like a mighty painful way to meet a lady!! :) And I, too, hope you got her phone number!!

@Hunter, I didn't laugh at your account of your accident. Ouch!! That must have hurt like the dickens!! Praying for you, too, that you heal up quickly!!

@Gus, You sound like you are enjoying married life....congratulations again....and on your new cafe/club business, too!! Glad to hear your grandma is doing well! She is undoubtedly very proud of you!!

@Gale, Yep, it's getting close to that time when we make maple syrup, but not quite yet. That's one business you have to rely on the weather for. So depending on that, it's usually mid to late March, sometimes early April, before we start.

@Nancy, it's great to be back here...I've especially missed you and your humor. I absolutely love and enjoy your wildlife photos and your tales!!

I know I haven't mentioned everyone.....wow....I'd be here forever and you'd never get done reading!! haha!!! But I enjoy reading each of your posts and praying for you all! As Julie says, our prayer lists are getting longer!! But that's ok.....because it is a tremendous blessing when I come back here and see how God has answered some of our prayers for our friends! God bless you all and thanks for making VBB such a great place to visit!!!

I agree...i have some exciting news...the docs told my younger daughter that it was close to impossible for her to have a baby..found out yesterday she is about 4 or 5 weeks along (hasnt had her first OB appointment) so no due date yet..will keep updating as time goes on

This is a wonderful idea!! I don't have any thing tragic to report today however I do have a great big AMEN for answered pray..... My sister's latest scans showed she is still in remission with stage 4 cancer!!!! Thank you Lord!! God is good ALL the time!!!

Some of you asked how I was getting along with my knee surgery. I am getting around with a cane right now. The knee I had done in June is doing quite well. Have had some problems with the one from November, but am getting there. Thank you for asking and thank you for all the prayers.

Please continue to pray for my husband with his MS and his hives. Thank you!!!

Hi Julie- My injuries were worse than they first told me.I will be out the rest of the year.I will need to be operated on,my knee and ankle..I'm seeing the lady doctor.At least one good thing came from the entire ordeal.The other skier that hurt me and several others was drunk.He did not feel a thing.Twice over legal limit..Just so stupid.

Carol- Welcome back.We all missed you.Going in next week to repair the damage.I maybe unable to reach computer. I have gotten hundreds of cards from my students.

I hope all is well for everyone else.Preston how's the face man?

Oh Preston, sorry to hear that news.I bet your students really miss you.Why do people drink at the worse possible times?I agree it is stupid.Glad you and the doctors seeing each other.You take care.
I have to go in for more test. My doctor does not like this skip I have in my heartbeat.You can not win.

Are you on meds my friend? you asked about your face. You must mean Hunter.How is your face healing? This is why I will never go sking..yikes..scary.Take care.

First..I am glad you "got the Doctors number" I am sure she will be a help in seeing you through the surgeries to come.
Now I am probably the last person to say you should sue someone but in this case...after all you are going to be missing a lot of work and going through surgeries.

In any case please keep us posted as to how you are doing.

You are right Susan.It seems like everyone is getting sick.I do hope Nancy Is doing alright.There is so much going around.My son missed 2 days of school last week. He had a fever and sore throat.It was not strep.
