Still cannot remember what name I used for the old site. I was born in Colon so that colongirl is still a good possibility however so is czbrat. Did not think to copy it and save the user name. I did copy some recipes though.

For those who wish to use your "user name" from the old sites, simply click on "My VBB" up on the top right, choose edit or is it change my address. I didn't change my address but, I did change my first name to my original user name. It took about a month or two but, it now shows my user name.

I still believe that some of you/us are from different Nestle's forums that were merged into this one. I know I have never heard of some of you and I have been a loyal Nestle's fan/consumer since 2005.

Wa-Ha, I was a member and looked at many of the posts but until the change I never contributed anything.  I don't exactly know why maybe it looked confusing or something.  I took advantage of the confusion others were also having during the change to begin contributing.  So I don't know what my user name was but it would not have mattered as you would not have seen it anyway.  It may well have been "Grandma Ikki" that is what my grandson calls me. (not as much any more but I still love the sound)

Nikki, I hope you are enjoying this site. Tere are some great recipes and tips to be had from it but, it is very stubborn and likes to play games with us. It definitely is not really user friendly. I was on the old site for several years and I do miss it and those that were regular contributors.

Wa-Ha I do love this site.  Have met a lot of great people.  As I have stated before I am glad that the site was changed giving me a chance to "dive in".
Have to ask, what is the story behind Wa-Ha? Is is something you wish to share, maybe everybody that was on the "old" site knows. Some of the other names I understand.

I am part Cherokee from the Wolf Clan. I love wolves and always have. I used to sleep with my head in the open window at night so I could hear them as they howled in the woods beyond our home. Wa-Ha or WaHa/Waja means wolf.

SusieSew, I come from a very versified family. My great, great way back there in the 1500's or 1600's grandfather bought Long Island from the Indians. There are castles overseas with my maiden name along with towns, entire cemeteries and counties. My family was super rich apparently. Darn it though, they blew it all someplace along the line! The only thing left on my dads side of the family that was passed to my brother was a guitar that daddy had bought. No property or anything else. That was the entire estate. We do have lots of memories though.

On my moms side is the Cherokee people. My great grandfather was a medicine man I am told. He and my great grandmother died of the "sickness" which I believe was yellow fever. Their daughter, my maternal grandmother, was raised by her moms sisters who were white and taught her to be ashamed of being half Cherokee. And my moms dad was pure Irish, loved to drink, gamble and chase women. He was also a water witch and made part of his living finding where to dig wells for the farmers. The rest of the time, he was a wheeler and dealer. Remember Mr. Haney on Green Acres? I always think of him when I think of my grandpa. Smile

My dear friend Waha

Your brief family history is a wonderful thing to share.  I, too have Native American background.  Really cannot relay much in that my grandmother reluctant to share.  think she was embarrased of nthe background.  Do know that her grandfather was a chief .  Wish I knew more .

My father's family was also wealthy.  In fact, they loaned money to the Rockfellers before they were wealthy.  Not sure how the transition from wealth to working class evolved.   They also had a deep Christian base />  The family gave land to many churches for both churches and cemetary ground.  They southern part of my state still has many of these country churches and cemetaries.  Keep saying wish I could collect some interest from that now wealthy family in order to make things easier for our children.

Happy to have reconnected with you.

Jeannine

Wa-Ha...

Wow....that is some history and yes, what wonderful memories you will always have.  I really enjoyed reading your families history and thanks for sharing!

I really don't know much about my family history, was never talked about much.  Don't know why though!  My cousin had to do a family tree for a school project and her researching found that some of the our ancestors where carpet baggers, horse thieves and boot leggers.  Wow...that's exciting!  lol

Thanks again Wa-ha!!

Amazing!  I remember LI when there were potato farms in Nassau County where I grew up. Sorry your great-aunts made your relative feel ashamed of being Cherokee. All heritage is important!
