I was thinking that if one of the ways to get points for the day is starting a new thread on the forum.... there are going to be a lot of threads out there... seems like the sense of community will be

It will be. And, there will be no way to keep up with them. I have enough trouble now. Da**&&^ed thing logged me out again! I am trying to figure out the blasted time also. Shows after 9pm but, it is only 5:41 pm here. I don't live overseas and most of the others don't either. We also need a way to see that new posts have been made and there is not one. As soon as it passes midnight whereever this is originating from, it shows "posted 1 day ago or posted 2 days ago". I usually came on about 9pm-9:30pm and spent about 30 min. going over the new posts and looking up anything I needed. So, any posts made after I leave the site until the sites midnight hour will show they posted a day ago. So will anyothers that posted from midnight till midnight. Even the ones I had already read.

I also found another section with more topics by accidently clicking on shared stories. I was wondering where they got the "posted in OTHER & posted in BRAGGING" from.

You have several topics on the main page such as the water cooler. Add beside that: X amount of topics, X amount of new posts since your last visit. Then when I go into the water cooler section, put something to the left of it showing it as new posts/threads. And, put how many are on the boards like the old format.

I will give this farce of a message board until Monday night to hopefully start working then, my patience will be totally gone and I will go to Betty Crockers message boards or facebook and this site can rot in no mans land.

If/when the old boards are back, then I and countless others will be back.

In our attempt to bring others into the Community we've certainly disrupted the great one you and other VBBers already had going.  We are working hard to fix that and hope you'll give us a chance to do so.  The automatic log out is one of our top priorities to fix as well as the incorrect times.

We know you're one of our most loyal VBBers and we'd hate to lose you; we are keeping track of all the feedback you are giving us and are working to make it a part of the new message boards.  We apologize that this is taking longer than it should.

You don't seem to understand.

THE MAJORITY OF THE VBBR'S DO NOT WANT A NEW MESSAGE BOARD!!!!

New site is fine but, we were happy with the old forums and the format was one of the best, no, I take that back, it was THE BEST of any chat/message boards I have seen. And believe me, I have checked dozens of them out since I love to cook and collect recipes by the thousands. Yes, thousands. I have over 600 cookbooks I use when cooking and teaching family to cook. So, I was thrilled when I first joined. It took me about 2 days to learn all the ins and outs. And there was a help section for anything users were unsure of.

It was simple to navigate, showed who was on the site at all times, gave us OUR correct time, had a light up icon to the left of any topics that had new posts added since our last visit, when clicked on, the the topic had a lit bulb beside each thread that had been added to since the last visit. Also, we had a search feature to find particular topics/threads that may have had recipes or advice, etc. that we wished to find. One such was the shipping of items to our troops overseas. A simple search revealed multiple threads with tips, advice and recipes that were located on the message boards. We could also hit recipe and find a recipe for newcomers who needed help and post the link easily. A simple click on the back arrow and we were back in the message board right were we needed to be to post the link. I could click on the link to enter the forums and see in seconds if there were new posts or private messages. This new board keeps moving things around. You have to click on every darned one of the topics. Since this board has been up, it has taken me at least 2 hrs to go thru and find any new posts. Ridiculous.

I do not understand why a "test" site was not set up to allow the regulars to try it out first before our beloved message boards were tossed out with the garbage. I am assuming the company that is doing this now is not Eve which put the original boards up. They were geared to the average homemaker/cook/baker and not set up for computer techs. I and othes feel these new boards are. Our expertise is in the kitchen, not at the keyboard. You mentioned in one post that you are disappointed in the boards. You should be since they are a mess.

I wasn't joking about bowing out. And, many, many others are frustrated and disgusted also. If Nestle's was revamping in hopes of attracting the younger crowd, they forgot that they are taught mostly by the older crowd and that is who they should have been standing behind. Give us the opportunity and we will pass our knowledge to the younger ones. And, a lot of that knowledge was being gleaned on the old boards.

I'm not real excited about this new design. I really liked the swapped recipe section and it appears to be gone. Please bring it back!! The categories seem to broad and contain too many different things. Please go back to the old design!!!!
