Even with careful shopping and not buying pre-made foods it is extremely difficult. It seems that those of us on fixed incomes are being hit with increased cost of food, co-pay increases, gasoline costs, utility costs, etc. When will it end???

Only shop sales and use coupons when possible.  Luckily most of my stores double coupons up to $1.  Some stores have really good sales.  Fortunately I have friends with egg layers so most of the time I don't have to buy eggs.

 I eat more fruit and veggies as meat costs the most. I use a lot of yogurt and things instead of meat for protein.

Shopping salaes and using coupons have paid off big for me.I haven't done any real shopping since before Christmas.I still have a lot left in the freezer so other than milk,bread,eggs and a few other things I haven't had to buy much.

I purchased eight pounds of Dixie Crystal Sugar grand total 1.74. The sale was Sunday only. Coupons are wonderful.

I purchased vegetable seeds, tomato plants, pepper plants, additional herb plants  and a couple bags of lime. I make compost to add to the earth. I have a spading fork, a shovel, a hose and a Lot of Hope.
