The meat market manager of my favorite store was reducing prices Tuesday. I obtained a fresh sundried Salmon regular 4.99 a pound and a fresh mushroom blue cheese burger regular 9.99 a pound for the grand total of 81 cents.

 On these hot muggy nights when apptites are  often lost we eat a nourishing bowl of whole grain  cold cereal lw/ seasonal fresh eshfrui & cold milk for dinne.supper lhas been on sale frequently nowt that it's BACK TO SCHOOL SEASON& fresh ruits are stil sesonably loewer priced.It's light and refreshing ;value priced & easily prepared /o cooking; " A WINNER"

Yesterday was a great day shopping.At my main grocery store I bought a cart load.The bill befor all my coupon deductions was  $100.58.After all my coupons were deducted my bill was ONLY $24.91 ! and I received a $3 off my next shopping bill. Not too bad.Next week will be about the same with all the sale items and coupons.This is always the time of year when the coupons are the best and the sales are great TIME TO STOCK UP LADIES ! Check products for labels for education and box tops for education clip them and donate them to your area school they are able to buy things for the school with these.They really appreciate the effort.

My local discount store whicis only in Ohio marks down produce and meat.I bought 5 packages of Hebrew national franks for .99 cents a package.They went right into the freezer.I love deals like this.

 Yesterday we did our weekly grocery shopping
 I managed to get a few "bargains".
60 bars ofcrunchy oat &  nut bars( 16gm whole grain each &   really quite tastey.They are usually $2.50 for  10 bars I paid only  nly  $5.99 ( 60 bars)  taking advantage  ofa sale a coupon. That's $.10 for abar& only 95 calories of crunch nutty goodness.I also got 7 small steaks ( choice) 2 oz& 3 oz each for less han$2.50 I will marinate them & then saute p/ portobelo mshroom cap slices & coarse chopped onion.
We got  JUMBO bottles of diet soda( root beer cream&  giger alefor hubby $.69 each....... russet  baking potatoes were $.72 frforwo large nes
h of nearly ripe bananas ; a wonderful ripe canteloupe that hubbycut  up intobite sizedpiecesto fil up a smal cup w/ anytime we want some for snack o dessert;  1/2 GALLON OFMILK; 1O SNGLE SERVE ICE CREAM CUPS
 Buying marked downs & shopping  avertisements isements & using coupons we stil spen $65( $15 over budget)Yell
Butwe got lots of good fruits& veggies,healthy snax & treats, a cple. of meats; 8 juicy ripe  on the vine sweeet  tomatoes matoes& a BIG clamshell  box of  baby greens w/ baby spinach
We also got a sack of 10 juicy oranges& a 3#sack of local apples.; 2 boxesof 7 whole grain cereals,onew/  cranberries& blueberries the other  w/ genuine cinnamon ;
A JUMBO can of Chock o' nuts coffee  reg$9.99 foronly $4.99[sale & coupon]
I got 1/2 gallon ofcran-pom juicefor only $1.99
Hubbyboughthimself" another treat" smore'schewy granola bars ( mini morsels   mini marshmallows in a single size graham cracker  bar.

Pepperidge Farm National Italian four cheese crackers, Dawn power dissolve, 17 ounces olive oil, two Ghiradelli Bars, Colgate tooth paste, Colgate 360 toothbrush, baking potatoes and four bottles 59 ounce premium groves orange juice. Grand total paid 14.27.

there are just the 2 of us so i can get 2 meals out of roasted chicken and roast beef . i have left over roast in freezer for soup beef vegt soup and us had chicken  breast  bone in last night and that makes chicken soup  for tonight. same goes for whole chicken . can get 3 meals out of that i use coupons all the time

keep trying but my extra 100.00 dollars is still not going down  I guess we could all eat peanut butter and jelly 3 times a week that should take the price down  And food is still going up

I spent $75.00 today and did pretty well,my discount store had Bob Evans roll pork sausage for  $1.99 each that's about $2 cheaper than the large chain store.I bought 8 rolls and stuck them in the freezer.I had coupons for $1.50 off every two making it $9.92 for 8 rolls making them $ 1.24 each.8 dozen eggs,6 # balogna,5# sugar,1# barley,vanilla,parsley,veggie flakes,garlic powder,this store has spices 4 for $3,2# sauerkraut,6# cabbage,3# peaches,3# Italian prune plums,5# Bartlett pears,red and green bell peppers,2 pkg hoagie rolls, 2 -gal.2% milk,2- 6pk paper towels,2 cans Aussie Hair spray,8 pkgs of Swanson flavor boost,One quart apple cider vinegar.I stuck to the sales and coupon items total coupon deductions  and sales were $ 23.70 at the main store and the discount store coupon deductions was $6 not too sure on the sale items they don't keep track I know I saved $16.00 0n the Bob Evans.

I cut up the whole sirloin I got on sale. The freezer now has 4 more roasts (each large enough for the 2 of us to have 2 dinners & hubby a lunch or 2), I cut up enough thin slices to make 2 packs for pepper steak (another 2 dinners for the 2 of us with a little left for lunch or another dinner for me) & I cut 2 nice size steaks for us.  Eleven dinners for 2 with some left for a few lunches for $ 27.52 (the reg. price was $46.96), that is about $2.50 a dinner. It took me about 1/2 hr. from start to freezer (I trim most of the fat & triple wrap & I have to rest my hand, but I saved $19.44, not bad for 1/2 hour of work).  I might have to break down & buy a box of frozen burgers ( we have had them in the past & hubby likes them), when they are on sale, they will be $ .50 a patty (1/4 # each so will be $2.00#).  Ground chuck is over $4.00 # & hubby would rather I make meatloaf, tacos, patty melts, spaghetti & chili with it.  No stuffed cabbage, stuffed peppers, lasagna, dozens of meatballs or stuffed pizza bread for the freezer this year. Still getting stuff from the garden, so that helps.  I make hubby a pizza & load on the onions, bell peppers & diced tomatoes (from the garden), add some pepperoni slices & he has 2 dinners & a lunch.  When I make tacos, I take the extra meat, mix it with refried beans, loads of onions, diced bell peppers, chopped tomatoes, a little salsa & make a casserole that is large enough for us to have 2 dinners & he 2 lunches.  If you use enough veggies, you can skimp on the meat.

Hi Fran, thanks I love to shop and I'll be starting my grocery list today according to what coupons I have and what is on sale.My Sunday afternoon ritual is clipping coupons.I have to say you are a very wise shopper also. I gave my son 2 dozen to take home. The eggs I bought are dated for the 4th of November I will be doing a lot of baking and cooking in the next month so I will be able to use them up way before that.Eggs do keep very well even past the sell by date stamped on the carton.We eat a dozen eggs a week besides what I use in recipes.My two doggies each get two eggs per week also.They remind me whenever I'm making eggs not to forget them.You can freeze eggs also but NOT in the shell.To check and see if an egg is still fresh fill a bowl with water place the UNCRACKED egg in the water if it sinks it's good if it floats TOSS IT.I may have to buy more before November rolls around.Our cholesterol levels are well within the low range so might as well eat eggs they are economical and a very good source of protein and other vitamins and minerals.

 I scramble one egg for the dog & bird to share & it lasts them 4 days (mixed with their normal food) Smile. I bought 3 doz. eggs Sat. with an Oct. 24 date (I had to wait for the eggs to be put out because the truck came in that day & they were on sale).  We rarely have eggs for breakfast, hubby would rather have a big breakfast for dinner, but I try to limit it to every 2 weeks or so.   I also make my list out Sunday for my weekly shopping trip (usually Fri. or Sat. but if weather forcast is bad for those days, I will go on a Thr.) & almost everything on the list is a sale item AND I make sure I get rain checks if the sale item is out.

Well I went shopping yesterday too much stuff going on today.The BOGO boneless pork loins were a disappointment.They were charging $5.99 a pound that;s not a bargain at all.So that @ sale price was $2.98 a # still a horrible deal.Normally they have them for $1.99 a pound on sale so I walked away from this.I bought pork b- - t roasts for $1.99 a pound.I can cut those up myself,or grind the meat to make some of my homemade sausage.I save the bones to put in a pot of homemade spaghetti sauce.pork bones with a little meat on them make the best sauce.
Pork B- - T makes excellent pulled pork sandwiches.Not allowed to use the B word so it's pork rear end ! lol lol lol so silly!!!

I bought 12 boxes of pizza rolls at a $1 apiece with my coupons were .50 a piece.4 soft soap hand wash at $1 apiece with my coupons.30 cents apiece.Italian ice were BOGO with my coupons it brought it down to 2/$2.78.I bought 4 more packages of Scott paper towels 6 packages for $3.50 a package after my coupons were taken off.Not a bad day of shopping it was more of a stock up shopping trip.Oh and this was a managers special 1# packages of ButterBall turkey balogna for.99 cents I bought 6 pkgs and put them in the freezer.These guys here love fried balogna sandwiches.Meat prices continue to climb.The only way to beat that is to buy a surplus amount when it goes on sale.
