i'm reading     carla neggers      saint's castle        can hardly put it down   like all of her books

next is      nicholas sparks         safe haven    loved all of his books

i always wait for paperbacks  so i'm a year late         but i can not hold the heavier books and read very long

At the moment I am reading "Coming Up For Air" by Patti Callahan Henry

Nicholas Sparks lives literally 5 minutes from me!!  Yup, we pass his house (lol, I mean compound) on the way to church every Sunday!  I have read every thing he has written to date.

I am an avid reader!  I will read just about anything and average about 5-6 novels a month.Laughing

Renee....how cool is it that you live by Nicholas Sparks!!!  Right now, he is my favorite author......just discovered him about a month ago.....and have read all of his books to date!  I think his best ever is "The Best of Me".  I read that in less than two days.....couldn't put it down.  I have lots of favorites; but when I discover a great one, I try to read everything that person has written! 
I started reading about 6 years ago.  After a complete hip replacement (with many complications) it was about all I could do.  Since then, I have kept track of my reading....authors, titles, and a running tab of how many I have read.  I just finished #529, and I picked up 8 more from the Library yesterday.  Reading is such a stress reliever for me.

I am reading  a couple of series you get from GuidePost.
1. The Grace Chapel Series
2. The Patchwork Series
I am also reading a series from Annie Attics
1. The Lady in the Attic Series
These are all mystery books but are very good.

Wow.... am I the only one to admit having read Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed?Embarassed
I am currently reading The Cure by Robin Cook.  I have had it for a while and just decided to pick it up.  I do quite a bit of my book shopping at Goodwill. Can't beat $1.49 for a hard cover book.  the other place I shop is Half Price Books.  If you have one of them near by check it out.  They buy your books and sell used one pretty inexpensively I get most of them for $1.00
I just saw the advert for the recent Nicholas Sparks book and I will be picking that one up.
The only time I get a chance to read is after my husband goes to bed but that is the only time I get to get to  exercise or any number of things that I want to do during the day but have to watch him. It makes it difficult to get to the library to get a book or a movie if I am not watching him he will wander off.
That will change soon as I am signing him up for Adult Day Care with luck he will not get "asked to not return" to this one.

 I'm reading another RobinCook book: : " DEATH BENEFIT" &  like his other books ,I find it enjoyable &   full of intrigue & theory of the medical industry's greed";
Insurance/ investment companies take "HIT" too, Anybody who is greedy at the expense of others is a target for  MrCookWink

It is cool! Nicholas Sparks is a really nice man and does a lot for our little community.  If you haven't read "3 Weeks with My Brother" definitely do.  That was one of my favorite books of his because it tells about his life before he was an author.

i have not read any of those shades series     maybe someday

i'm glad you are finding help   i will pray that they keep him around
but if they cater to alth patients      they should be more understanding of the situation and his needs

I haunt Barnes and Noble.  I read about 4-5 books every 2 weeks.  I also have a "Nook" e-reader, but I really rather have a paperback.  I have read all of Catherine Coulter's FBI series this summer(  all except the recently released Hard Back "Back Fire")  I have also read all of Jonathan Kellerman's Alex Delaware series ( I also haven't read "Victim" his newest which is in Hard Back still).  I laughed all the way through Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series.  I also have read several other books, but I really look for an author that I like and then read all that author's books from the beginning.  Needless to say I really enjoy mysteries.  I just started reading Carl Hiaasen's books. I am also reading Harlan Coben's books.  I must mention that I love Sue Grafton and have all her "alphabet series" and even buy her hard back books!!

I have enjoyed reading ever since I learned how in 1st grade, a long time ago. LOL  I always have a book ready-at-hand, and never get in the car without my book. I am currently reading Nelson Delmille, The Gate House. And Barbara B., your list of favorite author's mirrors mine! I also love reading nonfiction, especially biographies, David McCullough being one of my favorite biographers.

I'm reading the J.D. Robb series (Nora Roberts) about homicide detective Eve Dallas.  These books take place in the future (2056).

Like you, Nikki, I only read at night while Hubby is asleep.  I read one chapter a night of Fifty Shades of Grey, and then go back to my other books so that I can get them back to the Library on time.  I'm not sure I will read the "other Greys"; but this first one is pretty interesting.  Does that make us "bad"?!!

I also hope things will work out.  This place is a retirement community that does have a section just for Memory "patients", "guests" residents what ever you wish to classify them.  So I am hoping for the best.  Best part is the day care was less expensive than having someone come into the house.  That will be the next option if it comes to that.

Not at all.  I am of the belief that any reading is good. Never can tell what you might "discover".
I guess you can read the Fifty Shades Trilogy in different ways.  Yes there is a s(e)x (filter will not let me just write out the word!) side but there are some pretty deep emotions that are dredged up.
Now they are going to release an album (shows my age) a CD of the classical music that is mentioned in the books.  Now isn't that a way to get a younger group that would never be interested in classical music to listen to some.

I like to read mysteries.  Usually ones that I can finish in a day or so because once I start, I can't stop and I have limited time to read them.
