THE OTHER DAY MY 12 YR. OLD AND MYSELF WERE SHOPPING.HE NOTICED THERE WERE MANY OLDER PEOPLE IN THE STORE.AS SOON AS WE WALKED IN HE NOTICE THIS VERY TINY VERY OLD SWEET WOMAN STRUGGLING TO GET A CART

It's always so nice to see and hear about other kids that are taught manners.  It is amazing how many young (and not so young) people just don't even consider other people when they're out doing things.  Being handicapped myself (and very self-reliant) I am always pleasantly suprised by those who are willing to help with simple things like reaching stuff, and holding doors.  My kids all do this type of thing for anyone who needs help, and comment on rude people around who just don't 'get it.'  Good job with your son!

It seems in this world everyone goes about  there business with no regard to anyone else.  Your 12 year old knows the real meaning of life.  He is practicing Christianity to the fullest!  Kudos to your and your son!

Love the story, I don't have kids but I try to instill those same caring qualities in my Girl Scout Troop. Please be proud & know that he "gets it".

Thank you to you all. i told my son about the kind comments.he blushed. he told me there is goodness in all prople. it is there dusty or rusty. sometimes you need to find it and use it. he likes helping people it makes him feel good inside..i nice feeling...he is a sweetie pie. i'am lucky to have him as my son.

We are all lucky to have our kids. Thay are what you teach them.You teach kindness, compassion and love they will pass it along.I see to many people ,kids not acting properly.It is very sad.They are a gift from God..Teach them well.

truely a LOVELY story; Once in awhile a youngster like your son helps me out when I'mshping.Sadly; more walk right past me as I struggle to reach something unreachable from my wheelchair.

i always teach my kids to say please, thank you , your welcome. also to send thank you cards to all.one day my oldest sons teacher called to thank me for rasing a well mannered child.she told me out of 30 kids , he was the only one to thank her, or was polite. it made my day, i thanked her for telling me. it makes you feel good to hear it from other people.he is still very polite. all the people love him at his jobs and college.....

Really great reading all these stories about your terrific kids!! It does make you feel good though to see kids helping people, doesn't it? Maybe it will put a little shame into other kids who see them but do nothing themselves to help anyone. It's really great to see kids teaching kids that way!!
