I'd like to ask prayer for our oldest daughter Terry. She is 50 and suffered an aneurysm of the brain when she was 19. The stroke left her with right side paralysis - she functions well considering, but looks like someone who has had a stroke. At 19, that is a hard thing to cope with.At this time in her life, despite a BS in nursing and a Masters Degree in family counseling, she had been out of work from November through February. In February, she got a temp, part-time job assisting special needs kids in the class room. While we are all grateful that she is bringing in an income and able to pay her rent, she is not able to save for the future. Our concern is for her future needs. We'd like her to be able to one day not have to work as the older she gets, the more difficulty she has with the residual affects of the stroke. While she is able to work, we'd like her to be able to be putting some money aside for retirement years. With temporary work, she is able to sustain herself but saving and health insurance are not possible. With both the nursing and counseling degrees, each time she applies for a job, it seems that the standards have been raised and her only recourse is to get further education. She doesn't want to end up with a mountain of debt and still not be sure of a job.
It's all so scary and confusing. Our Lord is "straight". He's not confusing and doesn't change His mind. We certainly need to follow Him.And we need to pray more.
