I have noticed among many of the posting that there are VBB members that have faith in God.  I thought it would be nice to start a Prayer List or Prayer Chain.  So, if you or a loved one is

In Response to Re: PRAYER LIST/CHAIN : Thanks Erica,I sure hope it is a celebration also. Thanks and God Bless ! How is your Husband doing ?That is a scary feeling to something happen like that.I know he was thrown around a bit but, thank God it wasn't any worse.God Bless you both!

Thank you, Gale,  My husband is doing fine, although the muscle relaxants they gave him make him a bit dizzy and very sleepy.  It could have been so much worse - I thank God he was wearing his seatbelt - when he rolled over, the windows shattered and a lot of his work supplies were thrown far out of the car.  Now the big worry is what the insurance company decides to do - he is using my car at the moment, which leaves me without transportation, but since I only was cleared to drive a couple of weeks ago, that isn't the worst thing ever - spent a year being unable to take myself anywhere and got pretty used to it!  Tuesday morning blessings for all my friends here on VBB!

Thanks everyone for the prayers for my cousin,She is a good person she has always cared for the people in her life and she now needs help. Her sister,my other cousin is taking her there for three days and they are staying at the Grand Hotel.I'm not sure when? It will be soon,I'll find out .We are also planning a family reunion for this fall.We should have done this long time ago,not many left. All the old folks are gone.My sister and their  oldest sister are deceased. There will be about 30 people there, and this is about all we have left.I can't wait.I told my cousin to take lots of pictures so she can share them with all of us at the reunion. We already have our menu made and who is bringing what,we are now just waiting for the time to pass.

I love this site and the people and the great idea for this forum.

I have a prayer list for the VBB's and friends & family.    In the light of what is going on in the world, namely Libya.  We should pray.  Seriously for help from above.

We are backing REBELS, some who there "Are flickers of Al Qaeda & Hezbollah but no significant presence."  Years ago, we helped Afghanistan Rebels to secure their land against the Soviet Union.  One of those rebels was Osama Bin Laden.  Nothing said about who these rebels are who we are assisting and we may even provide them with weapons!!

Gale - that reunion sounds WONDERFUL  ....  That really sounds good.

DiAnne - We certainly need to pray for the USA.  When this country was formed, everything was done in God's name .... now the country is trying to erase it.

Gale, I love your family reunion plans.  I have family on my mother's side scattered across the US, and I'm not even sure who is still with us any more, and my husband's family is rather dysfunctional - we rarely hear from even his brother and sisters any more, and do not know about any of his aunts and uncles.  It's a pity.  Change of topic - I hope that your cousin is not surprised or disappointed by the size of the rooms at the Grand - I understand they are very small, especially considering the size of the hotel itself!  If the trip is soon, she may not be able to sit on the beautiful decks outside and enjoy a drink, but the sheer beauty of the nature surrounding it should warm her heart.
I fear for our soldiers getting into yet another global conflct; many prayers being sent their way.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Hi Erica, how is your husband doing? I hope that you are both well after what happened. What is so sad about our reunion is we all live within minutes of each other. My cousin that is deceased lived in New York and her two son's are going to try to be there,I've never met them.I think that they are going when it is warmer out.I hear that it is just beautiful there and from seeing it on TV I'm sure that it is gorgeous.I'm totally in love with that era.Sometimes I wish I could really visit that era,it's romantic, the women's fashions are beautiful and just the manners of people then, these were the true ladies and gentlemen. The whole world needs God's help,we are in serious trouble.I know that our nephew is going to Afghanistan in December and he will be there for at least a year leaving his wife and two babies here at home.He was stationed in Japan not long ago and is back here now.I thank God they were'nt there now.His dad passed away a few months ago and my sister in law is so worried about him going to Afghanistan. You also have a nice day and God Bless.

Erica --your Husband is in my daily prayers.  i'ts great you are part of this prayer group.  United we stand.

Gale - - Your cousin is, also, in my prayers and adding your Nephew.  Things could, possibly, get better.  Maybe, then, he could be sent some where else safer.  I truly believe in prayer. There is time on our side!

Nancy - - You are so right, but we can still pray.

DiAnne, so true...we need to pray that the leaders of the United States with God's help make the right decisions.

Do you all remember the song from Sunday School "This Little Light Of Mine"?  Well, we need to shine our light!

VBB...

Prayers for all those in need and that the Lord shines his light upon you and protect you wherever you go!

This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine, this little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine all the time!

Have a good one my VBB friends!

Oh Gale.  Sorry you are having such a day, much less your Birthday!    I will, also, pray for your son and a job.

This is all about this economy not coming back.  I work a little job and they said they forgot to call me because hours have been cut and they have all the work, less hours.    I hope our economy does not calapse.  We keep spending ( 2 billion to Brazil to drill for oil), 5 and a half billion dollars assisting in a war in Libya.   It is just crazy and does not make any sense at all.  Yet they can't come to any agreement to cut the deficet!

I feel for you.  I think this is affecting more people than we might know.  Sorry it is your family. I will pray.

I heard on TV that the 2 billion to Brazil was to drill for oil for China!!
Yes, we need God's help.  Pray without ceasing.

Oh, Gale, how terrible!  I can fully relate - my son lost his job in Chicago, and at the age of 31 had to move up here with us just to keep his head marginally above water...he is now having to file for bankruptcy, as the only job he was able to land was delivering pizza, which, as you can imagine, does not pay much.  I pray for much better fortune for your son!  A belated happy birthday - may today be a better one!

I can't help but wonder why this country feels it has to bail every other country in the world out, and yet our own people are suffering.  The richest country in the world, and yet our economy is falling apart around us... Hoping and praying for an end of all global conflicts.  Bring our young men and women home, safe and sound, please!

I'd like to ask prayer for our oldest daughter Terry.  She is 50 and suffered an aneurysm of the brain when she was 19.  The stroke left her with right side paralysis - she functions well considering, but looks like someone who has had a stroke.  At 19, that is a hard thing to cope with.

At this time in her life, despite a BS in nursing and a Masters Degree in family counseling, she had been out of work from November through February.  In February, she got a temp, part-time job assisting special needs kids in the class room.  While we are all grateful that she is bringing in an income and able to pay her rent, she is not able to save for the future.

Our concern is for her future needs.  We'd like her to be able to one day not have to work as the older she gets, the more difficulty she has with the residual affects of the stroke.  While she is able to work, we'd like her to be able to be putting some money aside for retirement years.  With temporary work, she is able to sustain herself but saving and health insurance are not possible.

With both the nursing and counseling degrees, each time she applies for a job, it seems that the standards have been raised and her only recourse is to get further education.  She doesn't want to end up with a mountain of debt and still not be sure of a job.

Susan - - I do remember that song and how true.  If everyone would shine their light toward people, even those you do not know, the goodness or kindness you exhibit is contagious  It is amazing that that little song is so relevant in todays world.,

Erica - - I will add your Son to my prayer list.  God Bless.

I, personally, am a bit, more than a bit, scared of all that is occuring right now.  Jobs are not being created for USA.   Debt continues to rise.  Two Million dollars given to Brazil for them to drill for oil.  We are not drilling for our own resources (OIL).  Yet we are suppose to become Self Sufficient.  Now we are to Cut our usage by 1/3.  That is  our use by THREE BILLION Barrels a DAY!!    Higher cost at the pump. Affects jobs in the car industry (a car has 400 - 500 lbs of plastic), freight, groceries and other industries that use plastic.  Not to include delivery of Flowers, Pizza -other freight, plastics that contain food.  There will be more jobs LOST Again.   THEN  Libya?  WHY??   One theory, Our allies, France, Italy & other European countries have a large investment in Libya resources.  Oil and natural gas which they have a great amount.   British Petroleum.   Apparently, not sure, we sided to save their interests?????            Things just don't make sense.  Syria has killed their people, Dar Fur - Congo -  We did not help those people killed by their leaders!

The only thing, PRAYER IS POWERFUL.

It's all so scary and confusing.
Our Lord is "straight".  He's not confusing and doesn't change His mind.  We certainly need to follow Him.
And we need to pray more.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your daughter and your family. Some times I think they just don't want to employ someone with disabilies and as we get up in years. They say they don't discriminate, but how do you prove it.I will add your daughter to my prayers.God Bless.
