I have noticed among many of the posting that there are VBB members that have faith in God.  I thought it would be nice to start a Prayer List or Prayer Chain.  So, if you or a loved one is

Indeed, Nancy - I just read an article about the disaster, and was horrified.  Praying for them as I type.  I recieved good news on my A1C test (for my diabetes.) ALL of my levels were "perfect" - blood sugar average for the past 3 months, plus cholesterol, triglicerides, etc.  So the doctor wants to wean me off of insulin altogether and just keep me on 4 tablets a day.  AND - I had to drive myself to the doctor visit as there was no one available to take me for once - first time I have driven myself anywhere in a year, and I lived to tell about it.  SO - thank you all for adding me to the prayer list!

May God hold us all in the palm of his hands. The world needs as many prayers as we can give. Why are so many not praying and believing? As an older person I know that all things are possible with God and Bless all of you for this prayer chain. Let us focus on peace in the world as well as the healing of all. God Bless.

Angela I wish I knew why so many are turning away from church. We have had so many church's close here in our city. The only thing I can think of is the economy and they can't afford to keep their doors open. The world is so different from when we were growing up.We just need to keep praying and believing and maybe we can make a difference.God answers all prayers! God bless everyone!

Angela...

I read your post and gave it a lot of thought.  This is how I feel about it...with the way the society is today, it's GO, GO, GO!!  Some people continually go non-stop, from morning to night.  It's sad to say, but they do not have time for church, prayer and God!

I feel that you don't have to go to church to be a Christian.  All God wants is for you to believe in him, love him and do good deeds, deeds that are pleasant and loving in his eyes.  Some people just need to slow down and find God...just open your heart and let him in.

Angela - I wish I had an answer for you as to why so many are turning their backs on their faith.  In my own family, I think I am the only one left with belief.  My husband, who was a seminarian before we met, stopped attending church after our second child was born.  That "child" (age 31) has turned to paganism.  I guess there is a belief there of sorts, but...?  Our daughter's husband was a very cynical non-practicing Jewish man, who pretty much convinced her that there was no God, and his death from cancer at age 37 sealed that for her.  I have not been to church for a long time, since I have been unable to drive myself anywhere and where we live, we are outside the dial-a-ride area by about half a mile.  However, I am slowly gaining strength in my leg and can drive short distances as of last week, so I will be seeking a new church to attend here in town soon.  Meanwhile, I console myself with prayer!  Bless all my VBB friends!

For those who asked me to keep them informed. I have to see another surgeon next week. Seems there are some large masses that need to be removed from my leg and possibly my stomach again. Boy, this is getting old fast. I had two very large tumors removed Aug. 2009 and was 22 lbs lighter when I got out of the hospital. Now seems I am going to have to let them make a road map on my leg.

I hope that I wasn't misunderstood. I don't think that you have to be a Christian to pray. I do believe that we need everyone's prayers. Going to church is something that I enjoy and it is a community feeling. I know that mostly older people go more often because we are seeing the end of the road, but hopefully by our example we can bring the youth back to God. By our example in and out of Church/Temple! Praying for our world and knowing that God is listening. Amen

Hi Angela, I don't think you were misunderstood.I know where you are coming from. I do agree with you also, if we keep praying maybe our younger people will return to our church's.My son and his wife are both twenty eight and they by far the youngest members in their church. They were just telling me that their church may have to close their doors because they only have about 40 members and donations are really down. With so many people out of work,I think that also may be why they have left the church not being able to give, just having trouble putting food on the table.God bless You!
