Today is the longest day of the year. It is, in other words, a beautiful day to get outside and celebrate the power plant that has kept our planet humming with life for the last 3.7 billion odd years.

I'll be joining my 2 sisters in Seattle all next week, for our biennial get-together. Among other things, we are going to take a few cooking classes. Can't wait for those!!! And then hubby and I will be meeting up with 2 of my brothers and their families in San Jose for a few days. And that's it for us this summer.

We had a 4 day whirl wind trip to Washington DC earlier this month which was tons of fun.  We live so close to the beach that we can go every weekend if we wanted to.  My sissy and niece are coming for a week in August.  We have a friend taking SrNCO academy (he is stationed in England but came here to NC to take the course) and will be throwing a BBQ for him while he is still in country. My husband has another 5 days of Annual Tour to do in July.    Let's just hope the Atlantic basin stays quiet and no named storms have their way with the SOBX of NC!!  Cool

We took our kids to the Grand Canyon two weeks ago and next month we will be spending some time with my Aunt and her grandchildren.  Other than that, resting and watching the kids play baseball.

So far the only thing planned is another out-of-town wedding.  Since it's going to be this coming weekend, that may be it for the summer lol.  Hopefully it won't be too hot since they are having the wedding in a park.  Second wedding in a park, must be a new trend?

With the extreme Heat and Fires  and Poor air quality hope that everyone is safe. My area set a new record for heat of 102 with a heat index of 105.  This weekend should be hotter. Please be safe when you go outside. Remember to check on your neighbor.
