We will be staying home.  Hubby is having surgery this morning for a hernia, so he will be resting and I will be reading and taking care of him.  We will be watching TV in the evening.  We love that PBS program from DC.

No plans to do anything special, but will certainly think about how blessed we are to live in this wonderful country.  It saddens me to see some of what is happening in our nation but I have hope for America.

We normally go to my Son's home for the 4th, but since I have had medical issues, we will stay home.  Both of my son's children (our grandkids) are out of town.  My grandson is in Italy at a film festival with a college class.  ( he is majoring in screen writing at Chapman University)  and our granddaughter will be in Southern California with her cousins.( our other grandkids).  My husband will probably be in the town's parade as part of the East Bay Regional Park District volunteers.

We will grill out and go for a boat ride and maybe fish.  We will also pray for America even though all things are not so good right now.  Our country will prevail and come back stronger than ever.

Everyone is looking forward to the 4th of July as it will be a break from the BART ( our rapid transit.....Bay Area Rapid Transit) strike.  The traffic has been horrible, and people from the east bay trying to get to San Francisco to their work places has been ridiculous.  Some have had commutes up to 3-4 hours.

GRANA here; Of course the flag will be displayed; no other plans:
Hubby keeps suggesting going downtown own to watch the Parade exposes us to too much sunshine..Perhaps we'll watch the Boston Parade on TV w/ AC on if needed . He wants to  go to our city park or a brief visit to thenearest zoo(  an hour each way but I'm  stalling for  familiar @ home comfort w/ hot dgs @ home as planned... already made the potato salad & cole slaw; lots of frozen yogurt &   lemonade  in the fridge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I don't know how i'll feel but believe avoiding sunshine would be the best choice to make so soon after surgery;
However you spend the day  please do it  pleasantly  w/ pride & gratitude  for  all we all we have
