http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_Metroparks Instead of me telling you I'll let you check this out.All I can say is it is awesome and very unique.I spent a lot of time down there and I like to drive through to get from one area to another. When we were little mom would get us cleaned up in our PJ's with our pillows and we went for a ride through the park,we always fell asleep before we got home.My sister was an artist we lost her 7 years ago she was 21 years older than myself. She did many landscape paintings of the Metro Park's. My niece just gave me 5 of them they are going to be on my big wall behind the couch. It will be Elle's wall of fame.So I will have a little of my big sis and the Metro parks both which I love so much in my home

Gale, I wasn't ready for that one and my mouth fell open. The people that you are taught to trust as a kid. Harder to cause him pain being an authority kind of but that's when you let them hang themselves and you are there to catch it. I'm no "baddie" of a person and not like this otherwise but when it's animals... and no I don't like to act like I'm tough-I know how, reading this, it looks and sounds. Hope you can bare with me! Foot in mouth But can't I make him look like this?? And who do you trust nowdays anyway?

In Response to Re: DO YOU HAVE PICTURES TO SHARE? :   Judy! Your deer, dear! I again love the pics. Is that a cat In that one picture? If so wow! The close up is going in with the rest of my cute animals saved. I take breaks from writing my book and just go and see birds, animals and plants for a few minutes and then I go off and do something for a bit and come back ready again.

Yes, that's Midnight the 17 year old barn cat.  He won't come into the house even if the door is wide open.  We got him and his brother, Morning, at the same time as kittens, but Morning disappeared after a few months

Nellie, love this and is going into my saved pictures! It made me laugh! You just posted that and I just caught it. It's nice because many of you have a different time zone and we're not on here at the same time.

Yes, Vicki, I do have horses.  One I ride and one for a friend for the other one.  Can't just have one or they get lonely

Judy I used to ride horses too but as a teenager when I rode a friends that could no longer do it so I was glad to exercise him! I was teaching him to barrel race and jump over but for fun. I went easy on him and it was just for the exercise. I hate when I see people just forcing a horse to do more! Is that you in the picture? Ahh... I miss the horses! When there's a fair close enough to get to I always go and see the animals and pet the horses.

I love all the pics too. I will search for some pics to share when I get home.

Vicki-your horse is beautiful. What kind is it? I love the sorrel coat. My sister has a couple of horses and I still love to go with her to the stables and hug that big neck and smell him.  We had horses when we were kids. I had a big old morgan named Duke and spent many a day just roaming around the fields and pastures with that horse.

Bella, my horse is a Morgan.  His name is Rocky.  I got him just before he turned 3 and he is now 17.  He's a great guy.

Hi Judy-How wonderful!!  Since Morgans are long-lived,  you will have many more  years of fun with him. Duke was almost 30 when we gave him to a family who had a little girl that needed a gentle horse to ride. Duke was a great guy too but he was so smart and always managed to get out of the fence,(with all the other horses following) so trying to find him(usually in the middle of the night) , in one of the many corn fields, was always a challenge.

I searched for some decent pictures and found a few of Duke but I will need to hook up my printer to scan. But, I did find one of him I can share--it is older pic but still a good shot of Duke--and also some pics of my sis's horse.

Obviously the bay is Duke, as he looks like a substantial Morgan.  They can bulk up on no food, it seems.  Always fighting the weight problem.  Rocky is the perfect "old lady" horse for me; very kind and not spooky.  I trust he won't do anything stupid.

We have a Metro Park right across the street from us.  The deer, raccoons, and, even skunks come over to check out our area quite often.  The deer come just about every evening at dusk.  There is a field at the end of our condo complex, and they scurry down to that, evidently for something good to eat.  That field is usually planted with either wheat or corn.  We sometimes sit on the deck and get a "bird's eye" view.  Love it!!

They are both Morgans and, yes the bay, my sister's horse, Mackey, is bulky. That pic was several years ago and he had free rein, in that pasture, to eat at his leisure - he has trimmed down since. Sis has had some beautiful horses through the years but I like Mack the best - he has character plus the nicest coat i think i've ever seen.

I'm glad you like your Rocky - he sounds like the perfect horse and I'm impressed with your pics - he must be trained well. A spooky horse can be dangerous.

Duke, the palomino, was beat by a man that trained him to be a show horse; he could bow and prance, which was beautiful, but the poor guy paid the price. I was told to never, ever carry a whip while riding him but I found the nicest leather 'little' whip in the dirt one day, so I put it under my shirt. He knew and ran away with me. I thought I was gonna die cause he was heading for the road that was traveled by dump trucks and I could hear them. I made it to the house but saw he was going to take me under the clothes line so i let go and hit my head on a little tiny rock between the big cement cover of the well and the rose bush. I was only 10 yrs old and my poor mother had been watching it happen. I wasn't hurt but I never took that horse for granted again.

Here's one more pic. Ipulled this one from FB-it's my niece with her Toby boy.
