I kept Juliet in and old laundry basket to keep her safe from harm. When she was tired she would ask to go into the basket, curl up and go to sleep

This is Rocky, my son was messing around with him calling him Julius Cesar
The squirrels always chew the young branches on our Maole in the front yard so her rapped one around his head. I took the picture through the front screen door.Sadly I lost Rocky 2 years ago he was 15 years old.A Jack Russell / Chihuahua. He was always by my side.

Judy! Your deer, dear! I again love the pics. Is that a cat In that one picture? If so wow! The close up is going in with the rest of my cute animals saved. I take breaks from writing my book and just go and see birds, animals and plants for a few minutes and then I go off and do something for a bit and come back ready again.

Gale I know how much you miss your one dog. I've had many cats since the one I had 30 years ago and he had a tumor appear on his leg. The vet said he could take off his leg (the front) but after thinking about it for two days and bawling I decided to let him go. I couldn't see him hobbling around for the rest of his life on three legs. My heart broke handing him over. He was happy and had a good life. And he was in pain. He was 12. Darn. I still cry boo-boo tears. I think you ladies must have guessed by now I stand by all animals. In the summers around here and it's 100 degrees outside I check all the cars in the parking lots wherever I go because there's always some idiots that leave the animals in the car, go into the cool stores and of course the windows are up in the car. I'm not shy about it at all. I call the police if there's time and if not I go open the door knowing well that I could get bit. The animal in distress is more important than something that might or might not happen. I carry dog and cat food in my car trunk and jugs of water. Also I've got old towels in there. There's been times that I have had to use all of it.

Hi Vicki It's my brother that get deer in his yard.He lives on a very busy street in a suburb and they are always there. We have the Metro parks that span all though several cities and they come up from there I have deer pass through once in awhile but not often. One of my neighbors told me my cat was having a face off with a large buck my cat won and the buck retreated.Seeing Judy's picture reminded me of this.My cat Ditto was an indoor / outdoor cat,he loved being outside he played with the skunks and drove the crows crazy just laying beneath the trees.Everyone in the neighborhood looked out for Ditto one of his favorite things to do was sit in the middle of the street,he never got hit thank God.He always came running when we came home from somewhere to greet us.My hubby would sit in his truck to finish listening to something on the radio and Ditto would jump on the roof of the truck My hubby would have the door open and one leg out and if he didn't get out when Ditto thought he should he would smack my hubby on the head with his paw.lol When my hubby was at home they were never aloud to have pets,my mother in law didn't like animals.Well when we got married that was one thing I insisted on having a cat or a dog.He loved each and everyone of our pets He was a very large man who was reduced to tears whenever we lost one.

I have to agree with your decision,it's very difficult to make.He was old and may not have recovered as most young dogs would.Unfortunately we are all here for a visit and then we pass on.My only hope is that someday I will be reunited with all my animals.I love animals too and it sickens me when I see one being abused or left out in the cold.I had one cat show up at our doorstep,we named him Lucky he wasn't neutered and he was around 5 y.o. I had him neutered not so we would have kittens everywhere. He lived to be about 12.He was out and we went somewhere and as soon as we got home my phone was ringing my neighbor called to tell me Lucky was laying in her drive way dead.We don't know what happened with him he didn't appear to have any injuries.I think he may have gotten into something that killed him.A short while later I had heard that someone on another street was killing cats with antifreeze,he would put it out and they would drink it.Someone like that deserves nothing but pain and bad luck.

Oh Gale. This story brought tears to my eyes. I would have brought pain in a big way to that stupid idiot. Wish I would have been there. I find it really hard to be rational with something like that-I can't just "blow it off" and get over it. Animals are here as a gift I feel.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_Metroparks

The Cleveland Metro Parks span hundreds of miles of protected wild life preserve. It is wooded ,you would find all types of animals down there the deer wonder up to the populated areas in search of food a lot of people bordering these areas feed them.Check out the link above and do a search and check out the different areas. There are boat launches down there, fishing,,camping in some areas.swimming,,picnic areas, skiing,Miles of trail for bike riding or walking,To sum it up it's natural habitat and woods surrounded by many small citys within the Cleveland area.My friend is from El Paso and when her family would visit they were in awe of the Metroparks saying they had never seen anything like it.There is a zoo and nature centers where they have guided walks through the park, bird watching and star gazing among other things. There is something to see through all of the seasons..My favorite area is Hinckley lake I grew up going there to  fish.I hadn't been down there in a long time and as soon as I arrived I felt like I was coming home. When i pass away I would like some of my ashes scattered down there.
