The Olympics are a different type of sports.  Supposedly the participants are all amateurs so that aspect makes it sort of interesting.  I don't sit "glued" to the TV watching but I will catch some here and there.  I am amazed watching skaters, the agility they have is amazing.  You can all ways tell a speed skater, they have thighs the size of tree trunks.  Hockey is amazing to watch, a combination of football played on skates.  Have to be very coordinated to do that.  I catch a bit of skiing just because I just wish I could do something like that but I fear for life and limb.  Summer Olympics also have some interesting sports as well.  But there again I don't spend a lot of time watching.
I do catch the headlines when they give the medal counts and it is fun to see the Gold, Silver and Bronze add up.

I really enjoy the Olympics.  In the winter I love the figure skating, and some of the "trick" skiing.   In summer we really watch the swimming.  Both of our children were competitive swimmers, and when they were swimming we knew lots of kids that made the teams.  We went to the swimming competition when they were in L.A.  and saw some of the kids that our kids grew up with.  Lots of fun.
