In Response to Re: New Years Traditions and Superstitions : Thank you. Yes, both the end of November and middle of December was because of AFib. The second time I also had a sinus infection with a bad cough and each and every time I coughed the heart rate would go up. Both times they had me set up to shock me, but thank God, it returned to normal rhythm by itself with the meds they were giving me. Right now I am on new meds, including coumadin and have to go for PT tests. I have a Factor VIII deficiency where the blood doesn't clot properly, this coupled with the coumadin, one week it went up to 6.7. Should be beteen 2 and 3. so they have to watch the PT. Please remember me in your prayers.

Hi Marie,If you ever have to be shocked it's not so bad, they do put you under. When you wake up they usually will let you come home right after you recover for a few hours. My husband has been shocked 8 times already. You will have a couple of burn marks kind of like a sunburn where they put to pads to shock you,One on your chest and back.Don't worry to much about it you may never have to have that done.I will keep you in my prayers Marie, please don't worry.I have an ICD ,that's an internal defibrillator.I've had it for the past 5 years and it has never gone off and I hope it never does I have ventricular tachycardia.I just don't worry about it anymore it is there to save my life.My medication is doing a great job in keeping my heart regular.
