about 40 yrs ago i made a resolution that i would start every new year with a ckean bed-------------wash sheets, mattresspad, blankets, comforter, dust ruffle, pillow shams, table covers, and drapes on new years eve-----------------and make my bed every day-------------------

i have mostly kept to it---------------my matress pad is in the dryer now and comforter is in the washer and this year i have a new set of sheets --------------i'm having to do it a day earlier this year as my cleaning lady is coming this afternoon------------she offered to come back tomorrow to do the bed -----------------she's a real true friend as well

I made a resolution 15 years ago to never smoke another cigarette and I have not smoked another.This coming year I will try very hard to live by the Serenity Prayer : God grant me the Serenity,to Accept the things I cannot change,the Courage to change the things I can and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Don't make them....most always break them.....except for 1 special one....I quit smoking in 1976, breaking a two pack a day horrible habit!! I have not even drawn ONE drag on a cigarette since then! I did it "cold turkey".....even though everyone said I would be back on them in two days. Guess I was just stubborn enough to not let "them" get to me!

New Year's Resolutions are almost always doomed to fail.
I have decided that the best time and way to make a "resolution" is to start on your birthday. That is your new year, so my suggestion and or advice is this. Go ahead and make your resolution but do not despair if you do not follow through or "fall off the wagon". Begin again on your birthday or other day that is meaningful to you.
I have found after loosing weight that you can not make a major change in your life because it is New Year's or because of an anniversary or wedding or any other occasion. You have to make a change because YOU want to make the change and are ready to commit to what you want to accomplish.
If you have succeeded in loosing weight or quitting smoking, drugs or alcohol you can use New Year's Resolutions to re commit yourself to a healthy lifestyle.

I hope that you all have a Happy and Healthy New Year.

I will give it a go though, I will resolve to be a better person, more patient and kind to those I love. If I can follow through on that part of the time I will be a happier person.

I don't make new year's resolutions. I just try to live each day to its fullest, as one doesn't know what tomorrow will bring.

GRANA here; being an honest person my resolution every year is to not make any resolutions I wil not be able to keep; therefore I make no resolutions! If I did; it would be ike verybody elses: to improve myself in some way:lose weight, talk less, listen more, save more $$$; be less impulsive.

To all f yu still believing/hoping youu wil keep your resolutions:"GOOD LUCK"!

I will of course till try again to do the above things; it's just not "official"
soI am not likely to fail

last year i resolved to get some type of exercise/movement in my life-----------------and the next time i went to walmart-------------they had a stationary bike on the center aisle---------------exactly like the one i used to have and actually used until my son broke the chain and i could't find anyone to fix it-----------------i started out as they recommended just 5 mins at a time-------several times a day--------no goals except for time 30 mins daily----------------i had to quit in may and june while my knee injury healed---------but quickly resumed my 30 mins a day------------and grew to 10 mins at a time------------most days between 40-60 mins depending on other activities-----and it was giving me more energy and i was sleeping better------------------then a week before christmas my cleaning lady insisted on moving it from my breakfast room----------where i had it where i could read the newspaper while riding and have the phone near-----and the table for times i need a stabilizer------------- to the computer room free-standing, and i haven't been on it since------------------so now i'm resolving to make her move it back----------she insists that it is in the way---------------but i don't get much company thru the back door anyway

GRANA here;While I d not make NewYears resolutions; I do try to find humor daily in life;....this cartoon is an example of the things that keep my funnybone; if not quite laughing; at least;smiling!I hope you get a smile from this one; you wil if you share your life w/ a dog or a cat( this is is so true/typical of those I have known).
