 GRANA here;
 HAVE YOU DECIDEDTO  CHANGE SOMETHING About yourself next year?
 lose weight?
 make better use of time?
 reconnect w/   misplaced  friends & misplaced family?
 Eliminate those  pesky automatic thoughts that  somehow keep popping up and often make us do things we  later regret?
 I just came across the A FROG METHOD  TO KEEP OUR THOUGHTS HEALTHFULL  & PRODUCTIVE;
Ask yourself & answer honestly;3honest nos, point out those thoughts that must be changed or thrown  awaay" for you to feel better; .....
1.Will acting on that thought best help keep me A live  & healthy?
2.Will acting on that thought help me Feel the emotions  I want to feel?
3.Is that thought based on R eality?

4.Will acting on that thought best help me avoid undesireable conflicts
w/ O thers
5. Will acting on that thought best help me to achieve my G oals?
I hope this helps us al to  deal w/ our day to day trialsthat too often lead to  regrets& bad feelings

I have come to the conclusion that New Years resolutions are fraught with danger.
You are "intimidated" to make resolutions by friends and the media and the long held belief that that is what one should do for the New year.
I believe that we all have 2 New Years.  January 1st, the one the world recognizes as the new year and your Birth date.  I find that making a resolution on your birth date makes the resolution personal to you.
No resolution will work unless it is something that you consciously want to change.
Also many people think that a resolution has to do with things like weight loss, exercise, eating healthy, quit smoking and goals like that.  While they are great goals you can set yourself up for failure if this is not a lifestyle change that you really want to make.
Make your resolution about someone else,  clean a closet and donate clothing, donate some time, get rid of the books you are done with and donate to the library for the sale, donate time or food at a local animal shelter.
 Best wishes to all and I hope the resolutions that are made are successful.
Don't forget that food pantry donations are needed year round.  (Maybe even more needed when we are a bit away from the holidays when it is not on TV or in the paper.)

I don't think I have ever made a New Years resolution in my life.  It always seemed like my friends, who did make them, would give up on them about the middle of January.  Too easy to make promises after a couple of glasses of champagne I guess lol.  Have to agree with Nikki about it not working unless you are committed to a "lifestyle" change.

I try to live each day to its fullest, so I don't feel there's a need for resolutions or a time limit.

 I've never made New Year resolutions before & never knew anyone that did but I always have room for improvement! On everything!  Smile  One I can see right now is that i need to make myself type in capital letters when needed! I learned to type several months ago and at the time my daughter told me that people on here don't usually type with capital letters so as to seem friendly. It can be hard to convey emotions on the computer so it made sense to me. Well, now it's later & I still am typing in small letters all the time. My public resolution now is to try to learn to do the caps! I've already failed a lot in this paragraph...we'll see...
