Nellie - A couple days ago (Duncraft had both almost a week early) I picked the cardinal but it was just too large for my screen.  I have no idea how or why ???? but I had to change to the pileated

Thanks, Nancy.  I chose the cardinal.  I see both kinds of birds in real life every day.

Vicki -- where in this country do you live?  I thought cardinals were common everywhere.

Nancy you made me smile!  I live in Northern California at the base of the Sierra Mountains. It's a small town that people in large major cities think "cute." .Personally I think this town is getting too big. I'm a country girl at heart. I would love to see some birds I've never seen. Blue Jays are common here & sometimes Humming Birds. A river runs through town so there are some birds that catch fish-can't think of their name. Owls-I have a hoot owl that lives in one of my trees that hoots all day and night & I don't know when he sleeps the poor thing. Smile   Maybe his wife is mad at him or they got divorced or something. Surprised  And some kind of pure yellow bird that I mean to look up one day. Some brown little birds that live at Walmart eating gravel and bugs off of people's car grills. They like to make their nests in Walmarts' name sign and lights.

Popcorn is good for the poster!! Wink
Vicki - I lived on Vandenberg Air Force Base - northern Santa Barbara County - three times for a total of 10 years.  I was bonkers about the assortment of humming birds ....... oh, I loved those things.   In Missouri, North Dakota and Nebraska we had only ruby throats.
Did I say I love those things?

Nancy was it the hummingbirds you loved or the popcorn or the moving? Laughing Teasing you again! I assume the birds! Santa Barbara is we call here "way down in the bay area!" A few hours drive. It's quite crowded there right? I went to the Bay Area twice in my life and probably not again! Much too much people and cars! Well, San Fran was crowded. The bridge was pretty & China Town was fun but it's not country enough! :) And just why is it I like to tease you so much? Laughing
