Darla - this winter the condo guys here shoveled snow just once too ,,,,, and it really didn't need shoveling - it was all melted by that afternoon.
This spring they've been here trimming stuff and adding a layer of stuff to the "flower" bed.  They even cleaned up the terrible mess my bird feeders had made.

Our son was here yesterday takling care of the high weeds.  Looks much better.  Grass is ok.  We just had big weeds in some spots, only in select areas.

The condo crew charged through here mowing and edging.  A local landscape outfit did the fertilizing.  We need weed killer more than fertilizer.

My husband was planning to mow Saturday.  Hopefully it will be dry enough.  I've been pulling weeds every chance I get.

Hubby mowed some today.  Our "lawn" has a lot of wild violets growing in it.  Pretty purple spots.  I kind of like dandelions, but try to remove the heads after they've bloomed before they set seed.  it is a terrible job to try to remove them all.

I was able to start my lawn mower. The weeds had turned to seed with the recent much needed rain. I mowed the weeds and seeds.

Even though it is below freezing this morning, our son is coming tonight to mow our lawn.  It grew with the warm weather and now it is freezing out there.

Judy - voilets are some of my very favorite things ... some of the most beautiful things on earth.... but oh, how I hate their spread.  I wish they would grow in the selected spots of a lawn like a tulip bulb.   LOL LOL

I mowed the entire yard. It looks much nicer. I  did the front only last week.

I mowed last Thursday. 
I have been putting in plants that I wintered over in a makeshift cold frame.  Moved 8 Hosta plants and I used a Christmas Gift card and purchased a Dogwood and and Eastern Redbud.  They will go in this week or at least by the end of the weekend.  A friend gave me a several Peony that I also stuck in the ground. 
Now I have to get a delivery of mulch and that should be it for now.

My husband has mowed the front yard three times already(only April?) and the backyard once.  Unfortunately the dandelions are all over the place thanks to the neighbors who have a sea of yellow everywhere.  It's been so bad over there my husband even offered to do the weed killer last year if they would buy the stuff.  But of course it never happened!  Some people shouldn't own houses with lawns!

Sorry for the rant but it really bugs me that they won't take care of the lawn and everyone suffers.

GRANA  here;
It won'tbe too much longer now; the grass is bright green & several inches high.The condo board contracts for lawn care by the year & the mowing people might try to let it go til we pus them to get it odone...Wether they mow once or 30 times they get paid the same amount..Their only icentive / motivation is geting next year's contract.
The same people do our snow plowing & had a pretty easy&profitable winter!
