Yes Ann,nice to see you,I have to answer to this as all of the above.I try to do any baking in the morning before it gets too hot and anything involving meat, cooked out on the grill. It's true we don't have big appetites in the hot weather.

Yeah...Ann is back!!

We eat light on hot humid days and when it cools off for a day or two, then I make bigger meals.  We also cook the meat on the grill when it's hot so the house stays cool.

I use the crockpot so as to not heat up the house any more than I have to.

We do a lot of grilling.  Kebobs of shrimp, and chunks of peaches with a spicy rub is one of our favorites.  I also pick up a rotisserie chicken at Costco occasionally...really good and easy, just add sides maybe a salad and vegie done in the microwave.

I have a small oven/broiler/toaster and bread maker I can use that doesn't heat up the house so I often use it.  If company is coming, I sometimes use the electric oven but I put it in the garage where it doesn't heat up the house.  I have a counter out there that I can put the oven on.  We do enjoy grilling during the "hot" months.  We didn't get that many weeks to do outdoor grilling before we moved here to the South.

If I'm going to the trouble to bake anything, I usually do enough for several meals and just warm up the left overs.

I will usually use my crockpot on really hot days or cook on the grill.  This way I don't have to heat up my house with the oven.

Welcome back Ann.

We'll be eating lots and lots of salads this summer since my husband decided to plant a LOT of lettuce.  Maybe I can even talk "HIM" into doing the grilling for a change lol.

I love doing kabobs on the grill.  Any kind is good but my favorite is teriyaki marinated chicken with mushrooms, green peppers, onion and cherry tomatoes.  Pasta salad with tomatoes, onion, and sliced black olives is great as a side dish(a little olive oil and some seasoning and it's ready to go). Sometimes I add cubed cheese and hard-boiled eggs for some protein and serve as a main dish.   I also make a lot of fruit salads for dessert, whatever is in season goes in those.
