My sister in law is hosting Thanksgiving this year.  I have not been given any instructions to bring anything - yet.  Half the time, they tell me that just bringing my Dad (and taking him home afterwards) is good enough for me.  Not a bad trade, they do all the cooking and cleaning.  I just do taxi service to and from for Dad.   Laughing

My Thanksgiving dinner will be at church the Sunday after the date.  We'll have turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and everything you can imagine.   I'm taking broccoli salad and might do sweet potatoes IF one of you gives me a good and easy recipe.   It has to work in a crock pot.

We'll have turkey breast with bread, ground pork, onion, parsley, and butter stuffing;  greenbean casserole; some kind of potato; cranberry sauce;  yeast rolls; and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.

Turkey of course, stuffing and dressing (stuffing is what is put into the bird, dressing is the left over stuffing that I make in a casserole dish), green bean casserole, corn, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy (yes, I use the drippings and make homemade), cranberry sauce, 2 kinds of olives, pickles, dinner rolls and pineapple rings with lime jello mold (I make this right in the can).  Dessert is pumpkin pie, apple pie, pecan pie and a pumpkin cheesecake along with "left over pie crust thingy's" and an assortment of breads and nut mixes that are available for pre-dinner picking.  ;-)

although we are eating out ; onThursday) I'll still  make  all our raditional sides for  enjoying as leftovers in the week(s) after  Thanksgiving: acorn squash halves filled w/ sweet peas &  pearl onions; dressing/stuffing baked in a covered casserole instead of in the bird; possibly  French cut green beans w/ almond slices& butter;CRANBERRY SAUCE(  jellied for HUBBY; whole berry FOR ME)  sugar free crustless pumpkin pie  w/ real whipped cream
i might prepare e buttercup squash or baked yams to g w/ chicken breast  filets, baked in gravy over  dressing/ stuffing.
Whatever other sides apppeal to us can & wil be  prepared as desired.

HAPPY  THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL; no matter  what, how  or where you will be  celerating the occasion

My daughter & i always volunteer for the local rescue misson on Thanksgiving. The day before we cook up a Thanksgiving dinner for ourselves as we are too tired to make dinner for ourselves after working at a very busy misson. we're having turkey, stuffing, gravy, peas, mashed yams & what was always my daughter's favorite growing up. we mix up homemade cranberry sauce with apple sauce & cool whip on top. oh, & pumpkin "pie" made in the crock pot. pie without crust-yum!

I am heading to my sister's house for Thanksgiving this year.  We will have the regular stuff (turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc).  I have been instructed to bring a cherry pie and hot vegetable.  I get off easy this year, but next year, it will be at my house.

I really don't know what the complete menu will be.  We are going to my son's and daughter in law's for dinner.  I will bring pies and rolls.  I know I will make an apple pie, and a pumpkin chiffon, and probably a black bottom pie.  That could change, depends on what requests that I get.  As for the rolls, I'll probably just buy a package of the "Hawaiian rolls" from Costco.  That's what everyone likes, and it sure is easier than making them from scratch.

I had the "Traditional" Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday at my daughters.  I was not planning on doing much since it will be just my husband and me. At this point he does not understand it is a "different" day.  but I am having company so I took a Duck out of the freezer.  My menu....
Duck
Green beans or spinach
Pumpkin gnocchi in Sage Butter
Roasted vegetables.
Cranberry pie or the Nantucket Cranberry pie.

If anyone has any suggestions or comments let me have them I am still trying to figure this out since I had no plans to make anything
