What is on the Menu for Christmas Eve and Chistmas Day?

Christmas eve will be for starters appetizers,pepperoni bread,spinach dip and shrimp cocktail, Dinner will be Prime Rib,baked potato with sour cream and butter,salad choice of dressing,green bean casserole,mixed veggies broccoli,cauliflower,carrots, rolls and butter homemade wine will be served with dinner.For dessert New York style cheese cake.cookies and fudge.

Christmas day will be Lasagna,salad, garlic bread. Pumpkin trifle for dessert.

I'll be at church on Christmas Day.  After the morning service we'll have sandwiches and then go back upstairs for a very, very early evening service.  So my Christmas Day dinner will be one of the chicken salad sandwiches I'm making.
Christmas Eve will be a nice little baked ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn and COLE SLAW properly made with MIRACLE WHIP.

Christmas morning we will enjoy Kolaches that I make. We'll have dinner around 4:00 with roasted prime rib of beef, scalloped potatoes, roasted carrots and Brussels sprouts, green beans amandine, pear walnut salad, rolls, rhubarb meringue pie and cherry pie.

Verlee - please tell me about pear walnut salad.
First time in my life I ever tasted prime rib was in California in the early 70s ... and that's the last time I ever tasted GOOD prime rib.  How on earth do you make it at home?

Christmas Eve we will be eating my husband's specialty, linguine with white clam sauce that he makes from scratch. Going to Church on Christmas Day is a little dicey because of the amount of garlic that is in the sauce, but worth it. Christmas day our friends invited us for prime rib and I will be making apple pie and a VBB yule log as well as a vegetable. Merry Christmas to All and Peace on Earth.

Christmas eve we're having ham, scalloped potatoes, and green beans.  Christmas day it will be beef tenderloin, baked potatoes and corn pudding.

Christmas Eve my daughter makes a fantastic fondue dinner; Christmas day I will make cornish hens, and have not decided on the sides yet.  Only made 5 kinds of cookies this year, which is a tiny amount for me, but since I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2 last year, I have to be a bit more careful what I have around the house!  We'll have some snack-type stuff during the days as well - stuffed mushrooms, cheese and crackers, etc.  Gee, now I'm getting hungry...thanks a bunch!  Oh, and MERRY CHRISTMAS, everyone!

Christmas Eve is our big dinner....Hamballs, scalloped potatoes, macaroni and cheese, corn, apple sauce and cinnamon jello.  Pumpkin cheesecake and apple pie for desserts.

Christmas day....this year we are making Bott Boi soup since it will just be the 2 of us. ♥

Wow ladies, I'm so impressed with your responses.  I haven't even begun to plan our meal for Christmas Eve or Christmas day but probably ham and scalloped potatoes, green beans and, that is far as I've gotten.  Only our oldest daughter will be able to be here.  She'll drive 9 hours to spend Christmas here in SC.  She'll appreciate being out of the cold North!

Christmas Eve dinner..had not really thought about that.  Will stay home I imagine the restaurants will be swamped.  Just might do Chicken Fried Rice and possibly some pot stickers or egg rolls. 
But I have not had Pierogis in such a long time that sounds good as well.

Christmas dinner for us will be:
Beef Rib Roast (aka Prime Rib but you almost can't get Prime Rib anymore..at least that I can afford)
Red Cabbage
Mashed Potatoes
Sweet Potatoes
Pickled Beets
Biscuits or Rolls depending on how ambitious I feel.
 Flourless Chocolate Cake

Christmas Eve Dinner  will be something simple because we will still be wrapping and doing stockings( 10 of them)

Christmas day
veggie tray and dip/meat and cheese tray to snack on while everything is cooking
20 pound turkey
10 pound ham
mashed potatoes
stuffing
hot veggies
rolls
gravy
fruit salad
and for dessert turtle/dutch apple/and pumpkin pie and a sugar free carrot cake with cream cheese frosting

We always have soup for Christmas Eve after church.
Christmas Day is Ham and then everyone brings something
to go along with it.

We will be going to our daughter's home for dinner on the Eve.  On Christmas Day, there is Church first, and then a good breakfast, and rest for the remainder of the day.

Not sure what is on the menu for Christmas Eve.  I will be at my in-laws.  On Christmas, I will be at my mom's.  We will be having ham, sweet potatoes, parsley potatoes, corn, california blend vegetables, rolls and I'm not sure what else.

on christmas eve i have had a family party for over 18 yrs---------------because with all the nephews and nieces getting married it is a time they have always set aside to come together ----------mostly the only time all year now----------------i normally have around 30 or more

i always serve home made chicken salad, deli meats and cheeses, a homemade cheeseball made with armor star dried beef(my late dads fav),velveeta, rotel cheese dip,lil weinies in bbq sauce, assorted breads and sandwich rolls, chips, crackers, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, sweet tea and 3 kinds of kool-aid and the things i've baked

on christmas day i go to my sons home where they generally have brisket, ham and a little of everything else

Nancy, here's the Pear Salad recipe for 4 servings:

4 handfuls salad greens, washed and dried
2 pears, washed, cored, sliced into eighths
1 c. roasted walnut halves
1/2 c. raisins
2 oz. Gorgonzola cheese
2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp. rice vinegar
1/4 c. olive oil
salt, fresh ground black pepper, to taste

Divide lettuce onto 4 plates and top with sliced pears and raisins. Crumble the cheese evenly over the 4 salads, and top with walnut halves.

In a small bowl combine lemon juice, rice vinegar, and olive oil. Whisk together and season with salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle half over the salads and serve the rest on the side.

For the prime rib, this is a first for me. I went to this Web site and watched a video clip, and am using her recipe. She makes it look easy!

My Hamballs recipe comes from my grandma who wrote it down on a napkin at a family reunion about 70 years ago.

Hamballs
1 1/2 lbs ground ham
1/4 lb ground pork
1/4 lb ground beef
2 cups bread crumbs
2 eggs
1 cup milk
Whole cloves

Mix above ingredients together in a bowl.  Form into 18 balls and place in a baking dish. Place a whole clove in the top of each hamball.

Stir together the following and cover the hamballs with:
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon mustard

Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
Makes 18

**If you can't find a butcher to grind ham and you don't have a grinder you can use a chopper or food processor to do the job.
**I use fresh bread bread crumbs, crusts and all.
**If there are leftovers be sure and save the sauce along with the hamballs.  They make a great lunch the next day but they will dry out after refridgeration...so save them in the sauce for best next day eats!!

Bott Boi soup is Chicken Pot Pie soup and is hearty and delicious.....I will share the recipe for that as well if you would like!

i may add it to my christmas eve menu as i love all things ham

and thanks to a sale this week i have a lot of ham for 99 cents a lb

don't you think this could be done in crockpot?
