hi BAKERY 1;
 GRANA  here;
I have read that our skin is the body's largest organ&  is vital to the body's defenses against bacteria&germs...my trouble spot is less than the size of a nickel was quarter size right after the biopsy;small enough to be esily ly coved w/ a regular Band-Aid though hubby prefers making his own w/ gauze pads & adhesive tape...He must be doing something right since it is healing fast& well.Kiss

Ann, sorry to hear about the skin issues.  Let us know the outcome.  Take care.

Ann, just watch for more spots to appear.  My mother had squamous cell skin cancer and she kept getting lumps in different places.  Please see your doctor at first sign of a lump as they are easy to remove when small.  Unfortunataely the medical folks didn't take care of my mother's until it was huge and it untimately killed her.

We continue to deal with my  husband's Chronic Lymphocytiic Leukemia.  Yesterday he had his 36th and 37th units of packed red blood cells since the middle of January.  His counts are not yet high enough for more chemo, which he needs.   So many of us are battling something.  May God bless us all.

I am a blood donor, every 56 days I go in and donate.  I am glad there are others that do the same thing so people like your husband are able to get the treatment that is so needed.
I used to donate platelets but the 3 hours that it takes I can not do that now with my husband there as he wanders and the days I have him in Adult Day Care I have so much other stuff that needs to be done.  I hope to get back to donating platelets at least 1 or 2 times a year would help someone in treatment.

Nikki, it is great that you are able to do that.  I've donated but can't do it often because of low iron or something.  last time I tried to donate I was rejected.

Another problem.  I found out a week ago that I have a malignant Melanoma on my forehead.  I have already been to a plastic surgeon, and a general surgeon that specializes in head and neck cancers.  Next week I go to an oncologist.  Hopefully everyone will get on the same page and get this thing off!!  They won't know until they get in there how far it has spread.  It may mean the removal of lymph glands around my ear, and/ or on my neck.  They have to do a radio active isotope to see where it has gone.
I asked my plastic surgeon if I would scare small children when he got finished.  He said he was very good at making it look good.  I think I can always get my hair dresser to cut my bangs longer!!!

So very sorry to hear about your diagnosis Barbara.  But it's a good thing that you already have the doctors lined up to check it out.  Will be praying for you.

Also praying for everyone else on here and their families.

Barbara -- I'm so sorry to learn about that Melanoma.  That's so scary.    I'll be praying for you too.  I hope you will keep us up to date on how things are going.
A bit over a year ago I had a spot on the end of my nose that I thought had to be a stubborn zit, maybe a basal or squamous, so I finally went to a dermatologist.  He did the usual stuff to send it off for a biopsy.  Good grief -- it was a trichilemmal carcinoma.  Even Web MD doesn't list a trichilemmal carcinoma.  I went to an incredible, fantastic, wonderful surgeon in St. Louis and he removed it with three episodes of Mohs surgery.  Then I drove to a plastic surgeon in a nearby town and he sewed me up.  Long day.

Ann it is great to have meds lowered.  So many doctors today just toss drugs out to people without thinking of the consequences.  There's a lot of over medication going on.  My BIL is an example of that.  I think he is on 12 different drugs, but my sister has talked to doctors and got one cut in half and is working on getting rid of others.  If all one wants to do is sleep, it probably means overly medicated.

Barbara, the Melanoma my husband had was on his forehead.  The Dr that removed it did a great job placing the incision within a crease in his forehead.  I sort of joked that it was a mini face lift for him. The Dr that did it was a dermatologist, I think if it had been on me I probably would have gone with a cosmetic surgeon but I think that is just because I would want to avoid a scar on my face whereas my husband always wears a hat and the scar is pretty much covered by the band on the hat. (sort of makes me wonder how he got the melanoma to begin with but that's another thing)
I wish you the best.....
