have you ever played   mahjong?
when i bought my first home computer  it had a mahjong game on it      and once i figured it out i loved it
and was deeply disappointed when my next and subsequent computers did not include this game, i tried the games purchased, but they seemed clumsy

imagine my surprise when i checked 'games" on my new computer recently and found 3 mahjong games
and one of them happened to be my old familiar one    and much speedier w/ my new power
you can also enlarge it to full screen  so i'm not straining my eyes like before

it's a very lively game involving matching tiles from various layouts       and i have a percentage rate of 81% already!!
a very good mind game

I've never played the game.  But I do enjoy crossword puzzles or even jigsaw puzzles on-line once in a while.

I think that was Jumanji. Probably have the spelling wrong but I do recall the movie.  It was a board game.  Mahjong is a tile game and on the computer you have to remove like tiles to clear the field.  there is a tile game Mahjong is also a "real" game played with tiles but I do not know how it is played it sort of looks like a domino game.

I have found an interesting site.  http://www.brainbashers.com I signed up for daily emails from them I get a Logic puzzle a Sudoku puzzle and a game every day.  the games are sometimes interesting, my Grandson likes to check it out each morning, some of the games are challenging some stupid but that's the fun of getting a new one each day.  And you can go to the website and play any of the games anytime. Free!!!

I LOVE Mahjongg, and most recently have been playing Mahjongg Dimensions on a daily basis. I do limit myself to 5 games each day. I like the games on the AARP site...now you know I'm at least 50 years old. lol I also do the Daily Word Jumble, Sudoku and Crossword Puzzle in the LA Times. I love games.

the game i am playing is    mahjong titans       and it has a choice of six layouts   i mostly play the turtle layout
i'm not sure about the actual game, but i had a friend for about 20 yrs until she retired and moved close to her daughter                   she was chinese            and when she went home to visit her mom and other family they played mahjongg                  i got the impression that the tiles were just tossed              but i don't think i would like to try that

The mahjong dimensions is tricky and lots of fun.  I haven't played it lately--too busy.  There's a site that has free games  pogo.com and they have a mahjong type thing with animals.  it doesn't have layers, but you have to match.  it is quite fun.

I've always thought I'd like to learn the game since I have my grandmother's set.  Since I am an old gal, imagine how old this set must be!!

Where did you find the Mahjong Dimensions game?  I played it once and I liked it a lot and would love to play again but I don't recall what site I played it on.

GRANA here;
 I have never played mahjong; but as an adolesent working in a summer colony I observed e te "women" plaing They each h their own mahjong sets, bags, cases & accessores cracks!& Bams!Wink as an adult u,I triedtoplay on my old small screenPC  but eyeestrain &  not knowing how  wore me out & discouraged me.i play solitaire daily ( downloaded) &  win 80% of games played .My highscore is 7,000+& I've not been able to = that and have  nearly lost hope of topping it   I'm happy for you  that you were able to find a new download &  are able to play once again; loosing the ability to play games we enjoy is not "a good thing"   FrownWink
