Well I made it through the beginning. SORE like the first time I was ever sore. This hurts. Picked up more scripts but not much is working. Oh well another shot at pain control. 2 more weeks and the computer can be programmed to interrupt the nerve messages to the brain. We'll see how it goes.  Good night to all.

I would like to thank all for keeping me in mind  and the prayers don't hurt either. I hurt so bad I can no longer attend services even though I didn't go often anyway. The VBBers are the best of people on the web. Shame the bloggers on the web don't know about this site. They could learn how to be civil and pick up some really, really good recipes to try and/or pass along.
Had so much trouble getting up out of bed I think I will try sleeping in the recliner tonight.    Has anyone else here had this probem and come up with a good solution???  I have no family nearby and the last of my friends has passed on so I am on my own.

John, I know one woman that had back surgery and can only sleep in her recliner.  I know another, her husband was injured badly in a fall and he has a chair that he can sleep in, otherwise the discomfort is very great.  As a matter of fact they just had the chair reupholstered because they can't find another like it and he needs that chair.

Thanks all. Guess I will try the recliner tonight. I have a tens unit but it was just recalled before my surgery so it's out getting fixed. My chair has vibrate and heat. Rght now this hurts so bad when I move at all. tOOK ME 1 1/2 HOURS TO GET UP THIS MORNING AND BEEN PAYING FOR IT ALL DAY. Be glad when this goes back to normal, in the meantime I just double up on the drugs.

John, After my back surgery, the doctor told me never to lay on my back or stomach, always lay
on your side. When you sit up on the bed, make sure both feet touch the floor and move them
around so that all the feeling is back in your feet, then try to stand up. Hope this helps you. I hope
that your surgery has made your back better. My L5 and L3 were bad, they did surgery on L5
because that was the worse one and it was under workman's comp. My surgery never worked so
I'm putting off another surgery until I can't walk anymore!!!   You may already be doing what I
suggested and I'm wishing you the best in your recovery.

I pulled muscles in my back as a result of being rear ended. (The other driver totaled my car and we were at a stop!)  I resist taking the muscle relaxer that was prescribed.  I call them my "stupid pills" because I feel so muddled and foggy for a day and a half after taking one.  I can not imagine the pain that several of you must experience.  My heart goes out to you.

John...

I can feel your pain and bless your heart!  I had back surgery and what Carol posted is the same thing my doctor said.  Now, when I had my surgery, I would lay on my side and put semi hard pillows along my back to help prop me up.  I would also lean toward them at times and that felt good.  I hope this suggestion helps you!

My prayers and thoughts are with you!

John, I am so sorry about the pain you are having.  The recliner may help.  When my husband had his bicycle accident and broke 5 ribs, the recliner was a God send.  I hope you can find some relief, and get some rest.  I am thinking about you!

John I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as I have undergone three surgeries on my back and the last one kept me in bed for 6 months before and than 6 months after the surgery.  It looks like they were trying to put a zipper in my back!  LOL  I had 37 staples and couldn't even lift a gallon of milk.  I can really relate to what you are going through.  I pray your pain eases with the days setting sun.

I had back surgery a number of years ago but I was lucky that it was only a herniated disk.  After the surgery the pain was immediately gone and hasn't bothered me since.  John, I hope you improve soon.

How are you doing?   Is sleeping in the recliner helping you get some sleep?  John, I remember in a post quite a while back you were in contact with a sister you had not talked to in a while is she able to help you out?
Take care, feel better.

My nearest family is 1000 miles from here. Still so sore can hardly move but am overdoing pain meds so I can at least get up(literally). Even have a problem just turning over. The recliner felt OK BUT getting out of it was impossible. Had to turn over in it and crawl.   Meds are my best choice right now so I better get better fast. Time to try the back brace from the original injury and see if it will help tonight. Can't be any worse. I am ashamed I can't deal with this hurt. Well the pot is next to the bed, the brace is out, the covers are warm and the pills are within reach so I guess I can lie down for awhile to see what happens. Good luck to all. Cross your fingers and toes but NOT your eyes and say a prayer.
