This afternoon I saw that my refrigerator needed cleaned. That miserable storm is hitting us tonight so I've promised myself I will work long and hard tomorrow cleaning the 'fridge and freezer.

Do you clean yours on a regular basis?

Not sure what you mean by a regular basis...When I vote for president I clean the refrigerator. (kidding)
I do go through it once a week, on garbage day and toss out some stuff but I do have jars of condiments that probably should be tossed out but I just don't do it. After all you never know when you may need the chutney, or sun-dried tomatoes that are tucked away in the back.
Ok you got me I will do a thorough cleaning this weekend.
Do I have to do the freezer as well or can I wait on that?

You get that freezer clean NOW.

I moved into this brand new condo with all new equipment Dec., 2008.... wow. The freezer has been totally cleaned just one time in 2 years so it gets it tomorrow.
It was VERY difficult for me to pick out so many thing so quickly. Yikes. From a kitchen range to a clothes dryer to a dish washer to a microwave in a couple of long days.
Now I need long days for cleaning - lol.

And my pantry needs cleaning/sorting/moving a lot more than that 'fridge

Ok you "shamed" me into it. I guess now is as good a time as any, it is cold enough out side that I can put some things out side and they won't thaw. Have a grill with a lid that will keep stuff safe for a while.

Oh, I can't do it today. It will have to wait till next Tuesday, Wednesday is garbage day and I don't want the stuff that has to get tossed in the garbage sitting in the house.
I promise I will do it next Tuesday. As a matter of fact I will go write it on my calendar right now!

Cute, Nancy! Ann would not want to look in my fridge, she might have nightmares. Although I clean at least one shelf completely every other day, there never seems to be any room for anything. Like Nikki I also have many jars of condiments which I use for different recipes. A few I have tossed because they got way too old but oh well. But thank you for the reminder that I absolutely have to clean the deep freezer(it's been a while).

I'm a lot like Ann. Leftovers from one day are either eaten with or as something else the next day or they are frozen to be used at another time. If something is frozen and wrapped in aluminum foil or baggies, rather than a container, it gets labeled with the item name and date. Therefore, it is easy to keep it clean and free of things that should not be there. I periodically check dates on pickles, olives, relishes, etc.

I'm not very regular about cleaning out the refrigerator, but I did clean it out last week and I even bought a new box of baking soda.

I check it every week, the night before trash pickup. The end of each month, I check the exp.dates on things, & I do a good cleaning(washing bins, etc.) twice a year (April & Oct.). Of course if I do see a spill, I clean it. I wipe down the outside when it needs it.

That's my plan ... a GOOD cleaning. I'm removing what shelves I can and I'll take out all drawers. All food will come out of the door. It's a big job ..... that I'll do just as soon as I get all that cookie dough I made last night will get baked.

Cleaned cleaned or just cleaned out??? LOL I can't remember the last time I emptied the entire thing out and cleaned it. I do go through on garbage day and get rid of any "science projects" that may have started however!!

Mine gets cleaned every few months. This includes removing all shelves and food items. This is something I have always done. I wish I was good about my floors!

Well, I know mine needs a cleaning right now and that is on my Things To Do list. I usually, what I call a house cleaning of the frig and freezer is done twice a year. All the glass comes out, drawers, everything that can be pulled out gets scrubed. Once a week, I take a cloth and wipe down the glass shelves if needed.

I clean mine when the power goes out. Something that has happened way more often than I would like. But I do throw stuff out every couple weeks if it is "old".
