I had a meeting with my sons teachers on friday. They want to move him up to a higher class. All the teachers told me how nice, sweet, caring and so very funny he is to everyone. It was all so very nice to hear. They said he has a greta smile they look at him and they cheer up.
So I asked his techers why do you write smile on his papers. They all laughed an told me he writes it to them. When he leaves the class he tells them to smile have a nice day. They are going to miss him.He does this whereever he goes.He is popular with the girls. When i drop him off for the bus, he crosses the street and gives me this huge smile. It last the etire day until he comes home.He does it before he gets up to bat, pitches. He told me a smile makes you and everyone feel better.Plus it is cheap...But it is priceless. He cracks me up.I'am so glad he is like that ,it is a great way to be.
So he is an assignment for all....smile...smile at a friend, in the mirror....just smile....have a great day....

Great story about your son, Julie! Sounds like he has an infectious smile that affects all he comes in contact with! That is terrific!! And he is absolutely right.....a smile is cheap.....but very priceless!! God bless him!! That smile is probably why he is popular with the girls, too, huh?! Wink

What a wonderful story!  My son (now 31) has suffered from major depression since he was young and will not considering seeing a doctor or taking any meds to help himself, so his smiles are rare...however, when he does smile it is so worth it!  Blessings to you and your son!

Absolutely right.....a smile can make someone's day! Some days can be downright rough and everything going wrong, but when you get a smile from someone, it just brightens up the day! Let's all keep smiling and make someone's day a bit brighter!
Preston, it's sad indeed that some kids never seem to smile. Being a teacher, you already know one reason for that is undoubtedly due to their home life and situation. I've known a couple of children like that and it is sad indeed. We can only pray that the other kids' infectious smiles will somehow make them smile, too!

Your son has a great attitude!  We can all learn a lesson from him.  Smiles do bring out the best in people.

That is so great that your son has the attitude he has. It's so refreshing to see a child that is happy and smiling, he must have reason to smile and that comes from home and family. You have done a good job raising him. It's sad that there are so many kids out there that have nothing to smile about.Tell him to keep smiling and always stay happy it can change the attitude of everyone around him :)

It takes more muscles to frown than to smile.  So, save energy and smile.  Who knows it may make someone's day better.

What a wonderful son Julie, and I can see why you would be so proud of him.  But you know, this all reflects back to you...you raised him well!!

This was always one of my favorite expressions; I hope you share this with him...it's so true!!

Smile, it increases your face value!

What a wonderful story and a wonderful son!  You did a good job,Mom.  Years ago when my youngest son was in first grade, his teacher ( a nun) was talking to me about my son and she said: Marie, you know, the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree!  I'll always remember that.

My Grandson is like that.  No matter where he goes he brings a smile and almost always has one on his face.
There are few things in this world better than the laugh of a child.
We should all laugh like that at least once a day.

Friends are the family you choose for yourself. Recognizing a fair weather friend can be a very hurtful experience, but in the end just know you are better off without them. Although hard to spot at first, a rainy day friend will surely disappear on a cloudy day. On the other hand, a good friend will be that rainbow that you need after the storm."

Julie, I know how proud you are of your son, and you have every right to be proud.  I know he will always brighten your life.  What a wonderful gift, but I realize that you are a major reason why he is such a terrific kid.  Congratulations!  You have done a great job!  We have a red headed granddaughter that does the same for us.
