I have had no luck attracting Hummingbirds at the old house.  I will try here and see what happens.  I have read of a plant that is supposed to attract them. Agastache.  According to the article I saved it "flourishes with neglect, blooms mid summer to fall, attracts hummingbirds".  Commonly known as Mexican or Giant Hyssops or known as hummingbird mint. And according to the article the one for the Chicago area (Zone 5) is Agastache cana with an intense raspberry-pink flower.  I will be tracking it down this week if I have a few moments.
Problem is the ground here is positively horrible.  It will take much added top soil, compost, a few trips to the farm for manure.
If anyone has grown this plant let me know if it is worth while tracking down.

I have feeders and flowers for them, too.  They are especially attracted to red flowers.

My neighbor used to have a feeder for the hummingbirds.  We would see them every once in a while.  They are fun to watch.
