Great hint using the staple remover. I usually tear fingernails trying to open the rings.

I thanked Anne for the many helpful hints. My favorite was the one for opening the rings to add or remove keys. I usually lose fingernails.

The Mr.Clean erasers or products like that work well.
I have had luck with Simple Green with a lot of things, gets grease off very well and it is non toxic, gotta love that.
Goof Off works very well also.  Gets all sorts of sticky stuff off as well as marker, crayon and ink.
If you have any WD40 also works on  a lot of marks on hard non porous surfaces.  But it is a bit oily so if you use it on the floor make sure you wash it off very well or you will have a slick spot.

The magic erasers work really well since they use little water.  Or you can try 1 part white vinegar to 5 parts water.  Just make sure to wring out the cloth before applying to the floor.  Then wipe with a clean damp cloth and dry right away.  I understand Pergo floors don't like water.
