"Arguments" can be made on both sides.
I love home made meals. I love going out to eat with friends and or family. I do use some "convenience" items making meals but I try to keep it at a minimum.
I now have my grandson convinced the only way to make his Mac-N-Cheese is to start with a white sauce add seasonings and cheese. But in a "pinch" a boxed mac-n-cheese can be adjusted to make it better, not great but better, seasonings, more cheese add to the flavor.
There is nothing like a good home made soup and a loaf of bread from the oven.
I don't know anyone that uses a jar of pasta sauce with out adding onions, peppers, meat and other ingredients. But the jar saves time and makes it easier to put a meal on the table. On a weekend when you have hours then you can make a pasta sauce from "scratch".
Some of the convenience products are pretty basic, check ingredient labels, if the ingredients can be pronounced by a 5 year old I think you're pretty safe that there are few additives in it.
