I love to do crafts and sewing. I love making "DREAM CATCHERS" I've made them for several hunters with the feathers of wild turkey and pheasants that they had hunted. These dream cathers are four sided.I collect antique glassware I've been doing this since I was 12.I used to draw and sculped clay.I was asking my son the other day if he would like to go do ceramics not the premade things but actual clay,he said he would think about. It is very relaxing.

You mean there are other things to do than bake and cook?

I "dabble" in planting things in the yard. The weeds do well.  After wielding a shovel for several hours clearing up the beds that I have things planted in I sometimes wish for just a flat green lawn.  Then I step back and look at the trees and bushes I have planted and I get a stupid grin on my face.  I think this yard will look great in 10 years if I am still alive and here to see it! (wow that thought just scared me)

I have also started collecting Cookie Jars.  Not sure if that would be called a hobby or not.
I also search used book stores, resale shops and other odd places for old and or unusual cookbooks. Not sure if that would be called a hobby or feeding an addiction.

When I have the time, I love to do cross stitch.  I have been doing this for about 20 years.  I couldn't begin to count the number of pieces I have done.  I started with samplers, and everyone of my grandkids received a quilt with cross stitching on it, and a hang on the wall picture with their name, date of birth etc.  I have made pillows, and pictures galore.  I have also made various things for other people.  For weddings, I have made samplers with names, dates etc.  For one wedding, the bride  was Chinese and I made a  picture which had a beautiful butterfly with Chinese characters around it, and had it framed in a beautiful black frame.  She loved it and said it was a "true gift of love".

I'm kind of a jack of all trades, master of NONE!  I enjoy making quilts, ready to start the fourth one.  Wanted to leave one for each of the kids.  Don't think I'll make it through the grandkids.  I enjoy oil painting and watercolors though I haven't touched a brush in probably 4 years.  I enjoy a little sewing, made lined drapes for the Carolina room and like some gardening.

When we first moved here, we weren't going to do a lot of landscaping like we had up North but, guess what, we're just as bad down here in SC.  I love digging in the dirt!

Years ago I did a little crocheting and may take that up again.

But, like I said, I'm master of none with exception to the drapery making.

Wow Barbara, the wedding gift of the butterfly was such a special thing for you to do.  I can see that you have a knack for making very meaningful gifts like the samplers, quilts and pictures.

Our granddaughter began cross stitching when she was 8 years old.  She's 21 now and still loves doing it.  Not sure she'll ever reach the point that you have.

I worked with a "girl" that did cross stitching.  I was in awe of the work she did.  First my hands could never do that! I have always had some pain in my hands but now it can be very painful.
Anyway the work she did looked as good on the back as it did on the front.  She said that is the way she was taught to do her needle work.  Whenever I tried to do anything like that I would end up with knots on the back and sometimes the front.  It did not matter how long or short the thread was.

Many years ago I painted landscapes then animals.  Then I worked on woodcarving.

I like to take photographs but I haven't had a camera in my hands ...it seems like forever. We had to put my Mom in a nursing home and things are so hard to deal with.....I just hope this nightmare will be over and things will settle down......I also garden and I have been working on getting my flower beds ready for winter in Wisconsin. ...I do love to cook and bake  but I haven't found enough time to do much of anything or do it right. Funny how your mind wonders and you leave one little ingredient out and it doesn't turn out...LOL...I never buy packaged desserts but right now they are sounding pretty good..Have a great week everyone.

Golly gee, I also did not know there was something to do besides baking. LOL I think I can declare reading as one of my main hobbies. I also have collected Salt & Pepper shakers since I was 6 years old and my dear Grandmother decided I needed a hobby and suggested these. I am a coin collector, also encouraged by this same Grandmother. And I used to crochet, but put the hooks away when my 2 boys were born. I have been collecting patterns and am seriously considering picking up this hobby again, maybe after Christmas.

I forgot my couponing this is my Sunday afternoon ritual.I clip coupons and scan through the sale ads for the week.I always go shopping on the last day of the sale which is on Wednesday. The reason being they get a truck in on Tuesdays and everything is restocked and most people have already made a rush for the store the first day of the sale.I always get a rain check when they are out of stock. This started out as a hobby but now it is a necessity in today's economy.

Reading, big time.  Also crocheting (never could knit - one needle to many for me!) and gardening, writing, horseback riding...

Now, I am avid reader.  I used to do cross stitch; but RA put a stop to that.  I do collect Longaberger baskets. I've been a "Collector's Club" member for many years!  I have baskets throughout my home.  I especially enjoy the "Miniture Collections"...small & tiny replicas of the original baskets. I used to do a lot of gardening; but we moved to a condo...no place for gardens.
