Maybe a week ago I asked Bakery to show us her quilts. Here they are - a treat as good as a cookie!

If I am not mistaken the first one and the last one are the same pattern correct?  They look so different when done in just black and white.
I love the pink or fushia and green in the first.
I can not even begin to think about what a mess I would have on my hands if I tried to do something like that.
I used to kid that when I took Home Ec in school as soon as I walked pass the sewing room all the bobbins in all the machines would scream and jump out of the machines and unwind. Surprised Never did have a knack for sewing.
I bow in awe to you!!!!

Gorgeous quilts, Bakery1! My grandmother quilted all the time, so I know how much loving work goes into each one. My favorite is the black and red one.

You are right Nikki, the top and bottom quilts are the same pattern.  One is king-sized (black, white and red) and the fall colored one is a queen size.  The middle one is the first one I made in a class at a fabric store.   I send them out to have them quilted since I don't have that much patience or a quilting frame.

Gale, once the fabric is cut to size, the quilt goes together quickly.  I could easily have done the top one in a few weeks but I kept getting interrupted when I was putting it together.

Bakery 1,
I applaud your talent. I have a daughter and cousin who quilt and I know how much work they are. When receiving one, you know that you are truly loved.

just beautiful!!!

i have one of my g.m.'s quilts across the foot of my bed , much used, much loved , not perfect, but every stitch was hers and done with much love until she lost almost total vision at the end
my mom would take her to wal-mart and buy material and matching threads
and one of my cousins would go every day to have lunch    and match the colors up for her      and thread all her needles
i have about 10 quilts she made    and my son has a few
my oldest sister is now making quilts for her family, she just turned 72 still working at a nursing home full time (as a director of nursing)  and like you she has someone else do the quilting
she and her husband also make black kettle soaps and creams, and lotions commercially

but like nikki,        my own mother(a master seamstress) gave up on me    she tried to teach me sewing, knitting, crocheting etc         i also have 2 fantastic crocheted afghans my mom made for me and a couple of vests

Bakery1.....I would love to be able to do quilting.  I used to sew all of my own (and my daughter's) clothing; but I just could not master the quilting!  I tried; but it just did not "click".  You do beautiful work!

Beautiful quilts.  My sister does quilts.  She does a lot of baby quilts for her church fair and did a big one for her granddaughter to take to college with her.  My aunt made each of us girls a queen sized one.  I have too many other things to do to get into quilting.

My sewing "skills" only go as far as replacing a button and sometimes hemming up some pants..... I am so impressed with your skills with pieces of fabric becoming something beautiful to treasure.  I wish I could be so creative and skillful.  We won't talk about being patient.  I gave up on that long ago.
