GRANA here;
 Hubby shopped solo w/ my "mini list"; spent $20.07 & got  1/2 #eachof deli turkey& roast beef slices  fig bars fudge pops , figs & lettuce. sliced breads( low carb& rye); cranberry nut muffins ( day old& only $1 fir6 of them, a treat for  breakfast, desserts& snax w/ milk or hot tea
No fresh meat but there's already eggs, asst cheeses &  veggies in the fridge/pantry&  freezer lso onions  &  potatoes in baskets w/o which I could not  prepare our meals...He also got  milk&  cottage cheese.PB( 2 big  40 oz jars in the pantry  or fridge  to  round out themenus.
Cans of soup are 4/$5_ (each serves  2 I have supplies to make 2 qts of chicken broth for our traditional Asian soups on Saturdays, ginger already shredded &  frozen[bought  when on sale several mnths ago, noodles for that soup also on hand; it's a fave of us both&  we try to not run out .Hubby spent the money earmarked  for  appeizers for our (Saturday )pupu platter w/ soup ; on my new  Rxor  a rfecurrig UTI&  I'm feeling beterafter onlyone dose.Of courseI'll take every pill till they are all gone to make sure al bacteria are gone; another lab visit hopefully   will confirn their death!!!!!!!!!! He willraid the pocket jar change to get our ribs& eggrolls w/ help from coupon money in mywallet. He also renewed his driver's license&  car inspection this week another $100___
impulsively  frittered away/spent  Wink  LaughingIf it's not  groceries; it's taxes& fees depleting our funds.

GRANA here;
 groceries are costing less, more sales & in-store coupons; restaurants offeringBOGO ; 20% off and other  specials( free appetizer or dessert. So it's down to  working hard & eating athometo save $$ or  enoying eating out @ bargain prices, tipping fairly and enjoying the experience ,Take out is a god option  adding soup  or slad & esserts 2 home  to round out the menu ; paying no 9% state meal taxor dealing w/ a resentful server who expects  a low tip since so much of the meal price is lowered by coupon usage. Even w/  poor/slow service waiting  1/2 hour r for  food to be brought to table hubby tipped 20% to a sweet helpful server.A complaint to the mgr of long wait for food got us comped a meal another day...I did tell him that the food  was verygood &   the meal made   more enjoyable by server helping us  navigate the unfamiliar menu.The  NEW kitchen mgr asked us to return to see how much things have improved under his supervision &   promised the food would remain as high quality while getting to us faster( more organization the reason for  speeding up  service.We'llsee ow itworksouf 1/2 hour.t; till then it's Taco Bell( same items half price &  served in only  7
minutes instead  of 30; no tipping saving us another 20, For  specialoccasions, the steakhouse still heads the list ; free appetizer/dessert, great food &  if a server is in need of help the service mgr jumps I n &  gets us served on time, he evenl dded extra shrimp to y seafood chowder , remembering  that on another visit I had only  received one  shrimp in my bowl of  chowder Frown

If you live near/close to a Country Store remember to check fruit, produce, fresh vegetables and spices as you make your holiday supply list.
