I got some really good deals today when I stopped on my way home from work.  The best was the 4oz bars of Baker's baking chocolate that were only $1.29 if one bought 4.  Of course I bought 4, one white, one unsweetened and 2 bittersweet.  I may eat the bittersweet as candy bars.  I love really dark chocolate.
Another good deal was Keebler crackers for $1.87.  I also had a coupon for $1 off 2.

GRANA here;
 Prices here , like  everywhere else are
TOO HIGH!
Hubby (taught
by me)to be a good shopper manages to keep us well supplied &   w/ in our $50 week budget.One week he spends $23; another $62;  We eat well thanks to my repetoire of international recipes(Asian; Itlalian , mid-east  where less meat is consumed per capita,  than here in the USA..... We also consume lots of seasonal fruits& veggies [ winter sqashes this  time of year.I buy dry beans, soak & cook them myself rather than  buying more costly  canned cooked beans , which are salted &  better for us both avoid anyway.Wink.
When peaches& berries are in season( summertime)I pkg& freeze them for  winter  meals[mixed ino yogurt or in whole grain cereals ..I bake cookies from scratch except when Nestlé's RTB cookies are on sale or I have a coupon, This way I can reduce  sugars, increase  whole grains, add dry fruits& nuts. getting nutritious & delicious treats at  a lower cost.
Hubby  gets FREE cookie & cake samples(instore bakery)& we split one free piece between the 2 of us( lower calories fat &carbs but still a treat w/ a cup of
good fresh brewed coffee or a mug of  hot tea

Ann I agree with you about the beans.  My mother always soaked beans on Friday night for baking on Saturday.  I do this also (when I remember to soak of Friday).  When I visit my sister I have to indulge in a can of "B&M beans.  They are the best canned beans.

I printed out the 2 coupons for Nestlé's morsels as one of my stores that doubles coupons has morsels 3/$5.  With the coupon I'd get 3 for $4

I used my 2 Nestle coupons from VBB and got 4 bags of dark morsels for $1.17 each.  Coupons and the sale made it possible. This is one of the strores that still doubles coupons.

There were 5 coupon sections in Sunday's paper this week.  Even with the coupons, everything is too high priced.  A lot of the coupons are for things I can't use like dog and cat food, toys, plastic ware, etc.  The one coupon that I would be interested in using expires in one week and with this brutal cold weather that isn't going to happen!
