By using coupons, reading grocery ads/store ads, and careful shopping I have purchased items at reduced rates that do not destroy my total budget.

I found some organic peaches and nectarines at Hy-Vee last week for only 99¢ a pound.  The peaches were some of the best I've eaten this season.  Nectarines were good also.

I had a rude surprise when I shopped Sunday.  I always get Kroger brand plain, non fat yogurt in the 32 oz size.  I add my own fruit
and top it with home made granola.  It was $1.79 forever and a few weeks ago it went up to $1.88.  Not too bad, but this week
it was up to $2.59!!!.  There were hardly any 32 oz yogurt container in the cooler or any brand.  I wonder if there's a great yogurt
shortage.
