I found some bargains today.  My Kroger store had one of their deals where if you bought 10 items from a bunch of choices you got 50¢ off each one.  Some of them were on sale to start with and if a person had coupons it made a really good deal.  Select kellogg's cereals which were originally over $4 were on sale and with the 50¢ off they were $2.19.  I had a coupon for $1 off 3, so got 3.  Post cereals were also on the same deal so I got the big box of spoon size shredded wheat for $1.69, regularly $4 something.

GRANA  here; We went rocery shopping today.Even w/ shopping sales; markdowns & 11% coupon savings; the bottom line@checkpiout wasstil sticker shock; or just shock.about 8 dozen cookies,  2.5 dozen eggs, wholegrain bagels; 5 yogut cups( all black cherry&a Qt of Greek yogurt( 8 servings for toppping baked potoes& making cheesecake.
Webought no meat or poultry.I did get beer battered fish filets(on sale& I had a coupon; enough for  6 meals
A 5# sack of apples, 12 large oranges, a bunch of bananas
 a lovely salad mix; ingredentsfor
8 dozen asst. cookies( sugar,  almond &  chocolate chip)
and nearly1/2 gallon( 48 oz, the new1/2 gallon )rum raisin ice cream(on saleforless than generic; but stil we went $6 over budget.
Boneless ctr cut pork chops& skinleschicken breastswereon salefor $1.99# but there's enough meat in the freezer( we eat so little) that we  opted for  fruits, veggies & snack foods instead, hoping to end up w/in the budget.Hubby was upset ($75 over budget in March but admitted that we've been eating  well & prices are so high that 've still l done pretty well. Fortunately, since we bought our new car inSeptember'11 we've only needed to fill up the tank 3 times( about$20 each time)That puts a smile on his face@ each infrequent fillupWink;a bigger grin each week we do not have to fill up the tank.Car payments @ our 2.9%apr are low but still come out of the bank account!!!! He worked for nearly 60 years & sometimes wonders if retiring was the right decision ? Then  I remind him what commuting to work  would cost him& he realizes that that would be even worse!
