Seems like every week something I need has gone up again.  The price of meat is getting to the point of ridiculous and something tells me it will keep going up.  Think I'll have to serve more "meatless" meals  and make the stuff in the freezer last longer.  I know that won't go over very well with my husband who likes his meat lol.

My Hy-Vee store is having a 6 week promotion.  With $25 worth of groceries and the coupons they sent in the mail, you get one item free and 3 others at a really reduced price.  This week's free item was their brand of chocolate chips.  One of the other lower priced items was a pound of pasta for 39¢.

This is definitely going to be a lean Christmas. My baking will be limited to the few family favorites. How are we supposed to continue on a fixed income? How do people who were in financial difficulty before putting food into the mouths of their children?
