In Response to Re: How are the grocery prices in your area?:
i agree with all of you. prices are crazy. bread is 4.00 dollars and milk is 4.50 a gallon. foods that our parents (& the rest of oldies) remember to keep food prices down are no longer cheap enough. like potatoes, hot dogs and the things like that. growing a garden is no longer cheap to do what with the water prices & plants and seeds have gone up like crazy. i remember being raised on in a pot of green beans, potatoes & ham. many cukes, tomatoes, blackberries, squash and things like that it helped my parents to save money. and with a lot of things you have to have choices-better for you bread or cheaper bread, for example. and just why is it that we get charged more for products that have reduced fat (some of the fat has been removed) and less sugar products (half the sugar). then it's more choices- the better for you stuff or the full fat or all sugar.i live in northern california in a small town where there's not many choices for shopping. you go to another town about 1/2hr away to do big shopping. the stores there have bulk in items in bins & that helps somewhat. tried to buy cat food for my kitty from a bin and i had to give it away to an animal shelter. is my cat spoiled? yes! humm... we eat meat 2 or 3 times a month only & those days i plan for! i do like my bbq steak! it's only me & my 33 year old daughter. our budget doesn't allow for much wiggle room. i recently bought a 5 pack of panties & the price is crazy! my town doesn't have a shoe store (just walmart) and we have two grocery stores. we eat a lot of veggies and all kinds of grains. barley, bulger, wheat berries, oatmeal & others. and i like beans of all kinds.

Vicki mentioned buying a 5 pack of panties and paying a lot. If you are fairly small, buy girls instead of ladies. I get girls Fruit of the Loom in size 14 in a 6 pack that usually has a couple bonus pair. They will be on sale for under $5. Most ladies sizes and choices are about that much per pair.
