Using coupons I purchased three containers of Welch's Grape juice at 99 cents each.  I paid 29 cents for Soft Scrub. An eight package of Gatorade  was  2.99 . Tropicana1.79. On Thursday Harris Teeter gives Senior Citizens Discounts. I enjoy coupons also.

The big name brand cream cheese is $2.59-8oz here.We have a discount store here in Ohio and they had an off brand cream cheese for the last 2 weeks for .99 cents-8oz. I just don't understand why such a difference in prices unless the stores are taking advantage of us? Now they wouldn't do that would they? lol !

I went back to Harris Teeter to purchase a product that was restocked over night.
I purchased Pepper Ridge  Farm crackers, Lance cracker creation, and two packages of Grilled Salmon. I used coupons and paid 1.02 for everything.
That was fun.

It's the same in Houston.  We don't buy everything we bought previously, because the prices have risen so much.

Hudson Valley of NY is getting ridiculous.  Return the bottles, plastic bags, use recycled bags, coupons & my bill is still astronomical.  OK I shop for 6 people & 3 dogs & expect a big bill but this is ridiculous.  The same paper towels I've been buying for years has tripled.  How much more could it cost to make paper towels that they've made for years & years!  My husband said no more extras but the bill's still high.  Some stores, their brand is more expensive than a store brand.  Supposedly government said companies have to help so yeah there are more coupons but now instead of 35 cents off, they give 50 cents off two or three.  Somebody's gotta come up with a better solution!  My pay isn't covering bills much longer if this economy keeps worsening!

In St. Louis they are forced to work at building a new sewer/drainage system .... in a couple of years the monthly bull will have gone from $29 to over $100 !!!
Good grief -- you can't avoid or reduce your sewer bill.

I went to my favorite discount store today and sadly they had run out of the canned sour cherries,I'm going to go to a few more of their stores to see if I can find some more.We found those great Baker's Secret cooling racks. They were in a two pack and they were only $3.50! Bonus on the back there was the recipe for Nestle's chocolate chip cookies and even sweeter my son bought them for me! Some of the prices were up and some were down.Eggs went up 50 cents and sour cream is just about double what it was.I know I'm spending at least $30 more per week on groceries.

Example --- there's a brand of cherry tomatoes I love.  The plastic web bag was 16 oz. of a  little cluster of tomatoes still on their stems for $2.39.  A few months ago it went to 12 oz, loose tomatoes for $2.39.  Today I bought a bag and its label announced that a wonderful, new, sturdy, special, great container was coming for the SAME PRICE...... but it will be 10.5 oz.

Prices keep growing up and up.  Coupons are fewer and farther between.  Even sale prices are higher.

Every time I go to the grocery store the prices have gone up and/or the sizes have gone down.  It's not much fun to shop anymore since usually that great coupon,  that was in last week's paper,  is expired by the time the stores have it on sale.  The sale prices now areusually what full price was a few months ago.  And you just have to love the latest store thing of "Buy 10, get $5.00 off" where the selection is usually something you wouldn't buy anyway.

Anyway, getting off my soapbox now lol.

The BOGO meat is a joke it brings the price down to what they used to be on sale. Not really much of a bargin.Watch that BOGO on meat make sure you buy two items that are close in price they charge the higher priced item.At my store the BOGO items seem to be not as good quality as they once were. This weeks coupons weren't anything special. The new sale starts today at the one store and Thursday at the other,we'll see how those look!
