http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_Metroparks Instead of me telling you I'll let you check this out.All I can say is it is awesome and very unique.I spent a lot of time down there and I like to drive through to get from one area to another. When we were little mom would get us cleaned up in our PJ's with our pillows and we went for a ride through the park,we always fell asleep before we got home.My sister was an artist we lost her 7 years ago she was 21 years older than myself. She did many landscape paintings of the Metro Park's. My niece just gave me 5 of them they are going to be on my big wall behind the couch. It will be Elle's wall of fame.So I will have a little of my big sis and the Metro parks both which I love so much in my home.

I'm in love with your town and I haven't even been there! I went and just stared in awe of all that's there. I couldn't even decide where I would go first! Sounds like really good memories you have of this place and that was such a nice thing for your mother to do. You must have some really nice scenery to look at. Your sister had a good landscape to draw from. Thank you for the tour!  :)

Hi Vicki, your welcome if you ever come to Cleveland let me know and I'll show you around. They used to call Cleveland the mistake by the Lake (Erie) We have so many things to do here there really is never any reason to leave for vacation.I have lived here all my life. When my son finishes Nursing school he wants to move to Washington state.Even more scenic, if he does he said I'm going with him.I would love to see that part of the country. My sister was very talented.her specialty was watercolor landscape. The Philadelphia art museum purchased one of her paintings when she was a senior in high school. My dad used to take pictures for her to paint from. She won a lot of local awards. One of her paintings is on permanent display down in the Metro parks.

We LOVE the Metroparks.  I love taking walks in the fall when the leaves are changing and the air is crisp.  Of course, it is fun in the summer too.  We see a lot of animals in the park and love to feed the deer apples.

Sometimes we have had friends over from different parts of the country and they are always in awe of our Metro park system. My friend is originally from El Paso and when her dad came for a visit he could not believe having something like this running through cities.Debbie you have to agree how fortunate we are to live in the great state of Ohio.Went ever possible we always took the scenic route to get from point A to point B.Debbie have you ever gone to Hinckley Lake? My favorite spot, along with Whips ledges.

Gale just thought I'd tell you that I copied and saved many of the pics form your beautiful place there and the castle is one of them! I often get stuck trying to write this kids book and then I go to my saved gallery to get my mind somewhere else and then I go off and do house work or whatever and go back to try again. It all came fairly easy to that lady that wrote the Harry Potter books of which I only saw one of just to see what everyone was talking about. I was always making up stories to tell kids when I used to do baby sitting and with my own. I get too critical and second guess myself too much with this I guess. The book is about gnomes and how they live in the garden of this house and the adventures that the little boy gets to have part of once they discover each other. The main character is a man gnome with his family and his name is Sofar. I'm aiming for ages of kids about 4 to 8.

Hi Vicki that sounds like fun writing a book for children.how far a long are you? Are you going to have it published? Have you written any other books for children ? I have yet to watch or read any of the Harry Potter stories..When we were little my dad was great at making up stories about Indians,His main character was about an Indian I asked him what his name was and he said Joe Charlie! he would go on for an hour or more if we wanted to hear it.Joe Charlie liked to drink coffee with milk and sugar and the name of the coffee he drank was called a "Ranger" when I think back to him telling us these things it makes me smile. He was such a sweet man,He was Hungarian, born in Hungary.I used to love to hear his stories about Hungary and his horses. He told us storks would built their nests up on top of their roofs.my father was older when he became to myself and my brother he was 48 with me and 51 with my brother.if he was still living he would be have been 104 on the first of April.I'm going to see if I still have a picture of the type of house he lived in when he was a boy.I wish you luck and success with your writing.

Hi Gale! I'm silly! I guess that I thought you had probably read my intro when I joined. Yes, it's fun but It seemed like it came so easy to the lady that wrote the Harry Potter books. She would just go to a coffee shop and drink coffee and write stories on a napkin if she didn't have paper. I don't really care about trying to publish it but we'll see. I just mostly thought it would be fun to read my own to the library kids that I read to for story hour twice a month. I thought since I had to quit being a physical therapist and now on disability for my bad back that it was something to fill up time. I'm used to working on other people not myself! And my back doesn't let me burn off all the extra energy I have so it's alternate between physical and mental so maybe it helps me sleep better at night. Harry Potter movie was ok but you have to have a free imagination. I only saw one.

I think you must have had a very nice mom and dad. You have such good memories. Sounds like your life was nice with your siblings too. Did you all fight very much?

Well, I doubt either one of us will get to see our home land but if you did I'm a really good chair pusher!!  Smile I've done a lot of it. Seriously though wouldn't it be nice if we could ever see Hungary for you and Scotland for me? Of course, if we did ever go to Scotland we would have to go get Nikki as she told me she's been there and would go back!  Oh well, nice to think about anyway!
