My husband and I always went to festivals and fairs, county and we always made it to the Wisconsin State fair.  I can't do that any longer.  He can not tolerate the crowds and when he gets into a stressful situation he becomes a bit more difficult to handle.
I missed the Burlington Wisconsin Chocolate Festival this year, first time we missed it in 10 years.  Last year we missed the Wisconsin State fair in probably 30 years.
I just may have to go on one of the days that he will be in Adult Day Care.  Then I can get my fair fix without having to worry about him.

they are having the  strawberry festival  in Pasadena,  TEXAS   (over 50 yrs old) this weekend     including the world's largest strawberry shortcake and it really looks good  as the tv stations all covered the different stages of putting it together yesterday      leaving my mouth watering
I used to live in Pasadena and went every year         but then they built a much larger rodeo arena where they hold it and I can't navigate it

Just got home from the Blue Crab Festival in Little River, SC.  Hundreds of vendors and lots of food to eat, if you're hungry.  We ended up going to a favorite seafood restaurant in Calabash, NC.  Love festivals!

When we lived in NY we went to festivals all the time!  Italian Feast Days, the Irish Festival, Greek Festival, Ukrainian Days (affectionately called Uki Days), the Polish Festival, Strawberry, Blueberry and Watermelon Festivals plus tons of others like the Spiedi and Balloon Festival and River Festival.  I miss the culture and diversity of New York.

Here we don't have much...it's basically the Baptists vs. the Methodists with ice cream socials (nothing wrong with that but after a while a bit on the boring side)...oh and the Collard Green Festival (yuck).   There is a Chocolate Festival but it rotates area's and ends up being every 4 or 5 years or so and then it's packed full and indoors....not enjoyable.

Good thing we like road trips!!

My husband and I used to take the kids to festivals when they were younger.  But when they got to be teenagers that all stopped since they would rather hang out with their friends than with the "old" folks lol.

No plans to go to any now that my husband is sick.

GRANA here;
We've been going to the Greek food& dance festival every year  sice 1987.
This year the signs to the side of every highway &road proclaim:" Greek food festival, Friday& Saturday";Specific dates not mentioned.Surprised
I duppose coud call the church& ask but hubby prfters my Geek green beans to their overcooked/canned green beans and a plate of ast  foods costs $12+ &  we have never seen the dancing; just  very long lines
for overpriced foods; nice but other  choices are being considered:
The "ribfest" has great  asst ribs: beef, pork, pulle pork chicken all yummy &  part of the local  rib cook-off The reason we might not go gain is there are no paved paths, al frassy & difficult to  go from vendors to  tables&  show seating& bathrooms in a wheelchair; Lobster fests are tempting but are seldom wheelchair accessible. The Renaisance fairs have long tempted me( 2 of my grand-daughters have worked at them & reported fun for all bt they are held on capecod , hoursaway by car &  logistics are unknownFrown

We have small festivals in the state of Georgia.  The Carrot Festival is a small festival and we have a grits festival too.  Very unusual and of interest to some people in the state of Georgia.
