Mine is an opener for cans that has the little ring on it which you need to pull to open the can.  My son gave it to me several years ago.  He had gotten a box of various kitchen gadgets and this was in it.  He knows I always struggled getting this type of can open so he gave it to me.  It is a reall blessing.  You lift the ring a little, stick this gadget into the ring and the rest of it is magnetized and you just lift up on it and it takes the can lid right off.  Works great!!!

I have an old gadget which opens can lids.  We got it when we lived in Kokomo, Indiana.  It is a life-saver!

Speaking of can openers...I love the one that cut aroud the outside of the top of the can and you don't get cut since the whole top is removed. You could replace the top and store if you were so inclined.

I have a couple of those jar grippers that you use to open jars with.  I really love them especially since I seem to be having more and more trouble opening jars.

I love those things!!  I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and those grippers are such a help!  I have MANY of them, and I keep them in just about every room!  I also use a pair of "Needle Nose" pliers quite a bit.  They are wonderful for getting the inner lid on a jar of peanut butter.  Use the gripper on the outside lid....the pliers on the inside.  Another thing I have handy at all times.....one of those "grabbers" to retrieve anything that I have dropped.  You would be surprised how handy that gadget is!

My favorite kitchen gadget is a Microplane for grating zest, ginger, choc. and etc.
We went to the San Diego Fair about a week ago and I got another microplane for
the motorhome! I love to go to the fair and see all the new kitchen gadgets!

I love those jar grippers, especially when I don't have a man around to open jars lol.  But, once in a while even the grippers don't work.  That's when I get out my heavy carving knife with a wooden handle.  Tap the jar all the way around with the knife handle, then use the gripper.  This works almost every time.

This is a good question...let's see, I would have to say my cheese slicer.  Also I have this gadget that you push through an onion and then you can slice an onion so your hands don't get stinky!

I could use a new potato slicer, I am always afraid I am going to take the skin off my knuckles.  That smarts!!

Thank you, Nancy.  If there is something besides your mixer, let us know.  Otherwise we will use that.

I use a mouse pad as a jar opener. It is thicker and works better than the thin ones.
