In Response to Re: FAVORITE HOLIDAY FOD/ MEAL : Hi Nikki,I live in Ohio and just paid $6.99 a pound and that is on sale,usually $9.99 a pound.I bought it last week because it will go back up this coming week,if it goes down bad move on my part! LOL LOL....But I roast and then serve off the bone,I roast the bones a little more and make an awesome pot of beef barley soup,so I do get my monies worth.

Very difficult decision to make..... Nibble on the rib bones or save them for the Beef Barley soup. Beef Barley is an all time favorite of mine. It is one of the best "cold winter day, stick to your ribs, warm you to the tips of your toes" soups there is.
Although right now I have a pot of Split Pea with ham (from the ham we had at Thanksgiving) simmering on the stove along with a loaf of Rye Bread waiting to go in the oven. That soup is a runner up in the warm you up category.
