My two favorites are Wal-Mart and Publix.  Mu daughter lives in Alabama and they have an Aldi which is great.  What are your favorite places to grocery shop?

The store must double coupons. Therefore Harris Teeter, Lowes, Bilo-Lo and Kroger.

Our coop store here in my small town does double coupons so I  use it.
It is 49 milles from my town  to a walmart or any other big shopping center.

We have several Aldi's close by so I shop there often.
I shop Sam's Club for close out items.  Great deals on meat.
Dominick's is another that I shop the "deals".
Once in a while I will shop at Trader Joe's (by the way, owned by the same people that own Aldi's)
There are two local grocery stores that I shop for produce and other sale items Joseph's Market and Caputo's are both great with produce sales and "ethnic" items. (great place for me to get my crystallized ginger)
I am not loyal to any one store I shop deals.

We live very close to a Safeway store, so most of our shopping is done there.  They also have a deal that if you buy $100 of merchandise (including food, of course) you get 10cents off every gallon of gas that you buy at one of their gas stations.  As it is you can build up to $1 off every gal.  Not a bad deal, and especially good if you have an empty tank!!!  Their prices are competitive and with a card you can go on line and get special deals on things that you buy regularly.

We also get fresh fruits and vegies at Costco.  Their prices are very good and the quality is very good.  On items that you can store for a reasonable time I also get regular foods at Costco.  However, it helps to have a large freezer or pantry space, because they only sell in bulk.

I usually take my Mom shopping at Shop N Save or Tony's Market every week so I buy whatever they have on sale.  They have some good sales on ethnic items and produce.  But I have noticed that sometimes the fruit doesn't last very long before it goes bad.

Our local Dominick's store usually has some items on sale that I want.   The good part of that is I can load certain coupons onto my card(saves clipping) and if I have a paper coupon for the same product they accept that too.  Once in a while they have free items on-line that can be loaded on the card which is great.  I've gotten everything from free salad to snack bars and even a complete frozen entree.

Even though I have cards for Dominick's and Jewel I usually search through all the ads to find where I can get the best deals.  It helps to have lots of stores in our area since they have to compete for our business.

I do not like to drive in traffic so I stick close to home.  Kroger & Meijer is less than 3 miles away; we now have an Aldi, Sam's Club & a Walmart (I think it is a super store, have not been there yet) less than 5 miles but in the opposite direction from Kroger. Kroger & Meijer double up to  $  .50 (no duplicates). I have gone to Aldi when they have at least 3 items that are on sale & I can stock up on (eg. 3# bags of  onions, chili beans, in winter fresh bell peppers & celery).   I checked out Sam's Club a few times, but did not join because I would never be able to save enough to cover the membership for the year. I belonged to Pace years ago & saved more than double the membership fee, but they are now just a memory.

You should ask a friend that has a card if you can go with them sometime.  It would be great for some items to buy in bulk or even split some items if you don't think you would use all of the product.  Great savings on flour, sugar and other baking supplies.

I don't really have a "favorite" grocery store.  I shop around to try and get the best deals with sales and coupons.

GRANA here;
I live in southern N..H.Market basket used to be my fave place to shop.
They never doubled oupons but prices weere always better than competitors
. The often do not have advertised items on sale; items on shelvesmay be past their BESTBY datesTheir own housebrands are excellent quality( whole grain bagels, salsa, canned fruits & veggie, frozen , breaded chicken products are priced much lower than national brands and are  of comparable quality I might check Target  this summer & hopeto giveWalmart a look-see , too
InBoise Idaho I liked Albertsons ; friendly staff, accurate ring up of  purchases & only 500 ' from my home there.Further away D'alesandros , in Boise was a good place to shop, wel stocked w/ al good selection & a shoe repair  shop &  general merchandise store right there, too.I
n Calif I liked Finast  or AlphaBeta...A.B had policy where if an item rang up wrong( different from the ad or shelf f price, yo got it FREE demonstrating an honest effortt to be ccurate. It was s mucheasier to stay in budget w/ that polic in place.budget.
In Norfolk,  Virginia I liked FOOD LION whereI foundmany new grocery items[unavailable in N .H. Ithink they were a
" test market"Cool & buying/trying  new  products was fun exciting, someties disappointing.Frown
especialy when a great product was not yet available back home in
I like to shop where there are a good  variey of fresh roduce; a good buthcer7baker,advertised& shelf prices are accurateI knowthats a lottoask for butmyDAd's small tosmall farm where many  Orintalwn grocery store  met all those things...My Dad wasthebake, brveggiesweresold
Priceswere highbut they were locatedonehour fromPHILY& small towns often havehigherretailprices.Wen tryingout anew bakery recipe orproduct FRESAMPLES wereoftengiven. My Dad wasthebaker,bro-inlaw & bro butchers; another bro in lawalso abutcher.Another bro in law grew fresh organic produce& kept beehives for honey to sell.
People came from hoursaway to shop therebecause Dad wouldget in special requestitems forcustomers. You paid more but quality was uperior & you always paid the correct price Money mouth

Hands down, my favorite grocery store is Publix.  For bulk purchases, I go to BJ's.

When the grocery stores doubled all coupons, I shopped mainly at Vons/Pavilions (i.e. Safeway). Now I too search all the ads and go to the one store that has the best deals for the basics. We also buy a few things at Trader Joes and Target. We avoid Costco because there's only 2 of us in the home and don't need their bulk quantities!
