Mother's Day is gone, Memorial Day's upon us & Father's day immediately following. I wonder if women fret as much as men for gift ideas or what to do for the day. Of course my husband wants to do one thing and my Dad wants to do another. In between work, graduations and thinking of a gift, I have to decide what to do with these two

Be glad to have two to look out for......it's lonely when they are gone. Hubby's Dad and my Dad have been gone for nearly 40 years....they were too young....but it's not for us to decide. You will think of something that both will be pleased with. Most of the time, they can be pleased with just the thought that you thought of them enough to do something. Enjoy the day with them. They will be happy!

My Dad and Father in law have been gone for forty years and they are greatly missed.I will make Hubby a great meal and finish that off with a nice dessert and he will be happy.Whatever the boys do I'm sure he will love,he is very easy to please.Happy Fathers day to all the fathers out there!

GRANA here;
My Dad pased away 10 years go Hubby's Dad 40+ years ago.
Expecting our own 2 sons to not remember & do nothing( their usual) ; I put away a few varieties of homemade cookie dough to easily bake for him. I've saved up enough$$ to treat him to his fave place( Wendy's)& will try to make a fave dessrt to have at home after I serve his fave dish( spagheti & meatballs); and maybe garlic chese toast ??????? to go with it.I will also force myself to unobtrusive(aka quiet) giving him lots of tme o sit w/ his feet up & read his latest book.
All things to make him happy are inexpensive & require only effort on my part

It will just be a lazy day around the house. One daughter never calls, the other calls every Sunday. Our son still lives at home, can't seem to find a job, might do something for his dad. Ahh life, such as it is, goes by way too fast.

My husband took me out for Mother's day dinner, but I will probably make a nice dinner for him at home. It is always a chore to get a gift for him, as if he wants something he usually goes out and buys it( within reason). Our kids are always good about remembering him, especially our daughter as he does so much for her.( her husband makes a very good living, but he is helpless around the house). Our son makes a point in taking him to "guy events" that I would not be interested in. ( car races etc.) As time gets closer, I'm sure we will think of something. Before that we have several family birthdays to plan for.

Before my Dad passed away almost 7 years ago, I would buy him flowers and a gift. First time I gave him flowers he was shocked but he liked it so much I kept doing it. Same with my husband. Guess guys really do like flowers after all lol.

This year I will probably cook my husband a nice dinner, get him some flowers and a card. He is so hard to buy for since he has almost everything under the sun lol. Hopefully the kids will come over or at least call but we'll see. I had one visit and one phone call, with a promise to visit, for Mother's Day(still waiting for that lol). Oh well, they do have their own lives.

I haven't really thought about it yet. I'll pick up some cards and have my kids make cards too, but not sure what else. I guess I should start thinking about it.
